James L. Cott is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Cott joined the court on March 2, 2010 and his current term expired on March 1, 2018. Prior to joining the court, Cott was the chief of the Civil Division for the United States Attorney's Office of the Southern District of New York.[1][2][3]
Education
Cott earned his B.A. from Harvard College, graduating cum laude in 1981 and earned his J.D. from the Northeastern School of Law in 1985.[1]
