John F. X. McGohey (1894-1972) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
McGohey received a recess appointment from President Harry Truman on October 21, 1949, to a new seat created by 63 Stat. 493; he was nominated on January 5, 1950, confirmed by the Senate on March 8, 1950, and received his commission on March 9th. McGohey was succeeded in this position by Charles Brieant. He assumed senior status on March 17, 1970, and served in that capacity until his death on July 7, 1972.[1]
