Vincent L. Briccetti is a federal judge on senior status with the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He joined the court in 2011 after being nominated by President Barack Obama (D). He assumed senior status on April 21, 2023.[1]
Prior to his nomination, he was the Supervisory Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.[1]

Briccetti received a B.A. from Columbia University in 1976 and a juris doctorate degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1980.[1][2]

On November 17, 2010, President Obama nominated Briccetti to the seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York vacated by Kimba Wood.[2] President Obama on the nominations:

Briccetti received a unanimous rating of "Well Qualified" from the American Bar Association. He had a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on February 16, 2011, and you can find his hearing transcript here.
Briccetti's nomination was returned to the President at the end of the 111th Congress. President Obama resubmitted the nomination on January 5, 2011. Briccetti's nomination was confirmed by a voice vote on April 12, 2011.[5]
