Elissa T. Wright is a former Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing District 41 from 2007 to 2015.
Biography
Wright's professional experience includes working as an attorney, law clerk for Connecticut Supreme Court Justice Ellen Ash Peters, and legislative aide to the House Majority Office, Speaker James Kennelly/Majority Leader William A. O'Neill.
She served on the Groton Town Council from 2001-2006, the Groton Board of Education from 1989-1991, and was a Groton Town meeting representative from 1973-1975.[1]

2014
Elections for the Connecticut House of Representatives consisted of a primary election on August 12, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Incumbent Elissa T. Wright was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Aundre Bumgardner was unopposed in the Republican primary. Bumgardner defeated Wright in the general election.[2][3]

2008
On November 4, 2008, Wright won re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives from Connecticut's 41st District, defeating Deborah Peruzzotti (R). Wright received 5,254 votes in the election while Peruzzotti received 3,299 votes.[7] Wright raised $31,206 for her campaign; Peruzzotti raised $30,000.[8]

Yankee Institute's Voter Guide

The Yankee Institute, a pro-market think tank, releases its Voter Guide after each two-year legislative term. Each member of the Connecticut General Assembly receives a score from 0 to 10 based on how he or she voted in ten key votes. The Institute selects key votes which "reveal the differences between those legislators that would harness the power of individual liberty and the market to improve lives, and those that prefer a centrally-planned approach." A legislator with a 10 voted in agreement with the Yankee Institute on all 10 votes, while a legislator with a 0 voted against the Yankee Institute's views or was absent for all 10 votes.[9]
2012
Wright received a score of 1 on the Yankee Institute's Voter Guide for 2011-12, tied for the 65th highest score among the 152 scored members of the Connecticut House of Representatives. This score was 1 lower than her score of 2 for the 2009-10 term.[9]
