GREENHOUSE: Sow seeds indoors Apr. 1st. Germinate @ 20-22°C (68-72°F) for 7 days. Grow cooler at 15-18°C (59-64°F) and reduce moisture levels to obtain optimum root penetration. Plants should be grown dry, watering evenly when necessary with good air circulation and ventilation. Transplant outside after last frost 25-31 cm/10-12” apart in full sun.
DIRECT SOWING: Sow outside anytime after June 1st. Transplant in 3 weeks about 25-31 cm/10-12” apart. Prefers full sun and well drained soil. Water regularly during summer months at normal to reduced rates. A short day plant, flowers are insignificant. Best grown as an herb under long days to suppress flower and seed formation.
HARVEST: A member of Marigold family with a noticeable licorice or anise flavor, leaves can be picked till first frosts. Excellent to flavor drinks, tea and food or as a tarragon substitute.
