Why Sad Movies Are Good For Us | Media Psychology & Well-Being
Sad movies can be good for our mental and emotional well-being, but how? It seems like a paradox that we can enjoy being sad, but media psychologists are discovering that sad movies are tools we use to understand and organize our own pain.
We learn how to react to pain by watching others, even characters on TV, and we can learn to ease the suffering of others as well.

Did Queen Elizabeth II Hate Theatre? Her theatre trips from childhood to old age
"I've never been fond of theatre," says Queen Elizabeth II in Moira Buffini's comedy Handbagged. But is it true or did the playwright put those words into her mouth simply to get a laugh?
Paul Seven Lewis delves into the late Queen's lifetime of theatregoing from her childhood to her last years and asks: "Did Queen Elizabeth really hate theatre?" He looks at her most loved shows, her favourite theatres and some of the great actors she met. He even discovers a little known secret about Her Majesty’s trips to the theatre.
So, was Queen Elizabeth a philistine when it comes to the arts, as some people believe, or did she in fact lead the Royal Family in appreciation of Theatre?
