We have had so much rain this week.
Well, actually, just in the last two days. Before that we had temps so cold the rain was freezing before it hit the ground. I was terrified that we would have a major ice storm, which is how it usually ends up, around here. We did have a horrible ice storm back in '07, and our pecan trees are just barely starting to produce again. So anyway, back to the rain. It sure feels like early Spring. I'm not ready for the storms, and tornadoes, that usually come with Spring, in our neck of the woods, but I am ready for Spring and welcome the rains that have come at just the right time.
My Mister has been on vacation this week. The first couple of days he was sick as a dog. Bummer, huh? Well, anyway, he went down to Texas to see his family. I wanted to go but since I was on jury duty all last week, I just couldn't not be here to keep my grandson, so I stayed home. I would be ecstatic about getting to do whatever I want but the rain, a massive headache, and spinal arthritis, has kept me grounded! I had big plans for the couple of days of alone time, too! I was going to go to my favorite antique and thrift stores, finish up and start more sewing projects, start some seeds, and spend some time with my granddaughter. None of that happened. What I have done is binge watched "Frankie & Grace", on Netflix, played some games on Facebook, and have become one with my heating pad, all while watching the rain fall by the buckets. Oh well...it's not like I can't do those things, I had planned, when my Mister gets back. I usually do but not having anyone around makes it seem almost criminal! HeHe!
I decided it was time to take the Christmas wreath off the front door. I left it up through Valentine's Day, because it was red and I was too lazy to make another one. By this time, though, it is no longer red. It is rather faded red almost orange, from hanging there so long.
I am still too lazy to make a new wreath, so I hung this old thing on the door. Not very pretty and sure not spring-y, but it looks better than the faded thing I took down. Once I get passed this bout with the headache and arthritis, I will figure something else out.
I did manage to throw this together. I just couldn't take the winter centerpiece one more minute, so I took a large wooden bowl and added some flowers, pretty eggs, and spanish moss. Do you recognize the white beaded stems? Yep, I took them off the faded red thing and stuck them in with the flowers.
This is the whole thing. It isn't what I wanted to do. I had planned to set one of my Mister's duck decoys on the moss, add the eggs and stick the flowers around it, but alas, the decoy is in the shop and once AGAIN, I was too lazy to go get it. Now that I look at it, the duck probably wouldn't have fit anyhow. This will do.
So...that is all I have for now! Once the rain, and pain, stops, I hope to have something worthy of a blog post!

I have a good reason....
Yes, I know I haven't written a post all week but I have a good reason! I do, really! I was on jury duty all week and by the time I got home, every evening, I was ready for bed. This was my first time and I don't think I was ready for it. I am EXTREMELY glad that I don't have to serve, again, within the next two years!
Next time I'm called, I'm wearing my Princess outfit and crown!

Big 2...
Today, my sweet little grandboy turned 2 years old. I don't know where the time gets to, do you?
Paw and I always have a small birthday party for the babies. Nothing fancy. They always have these big parties that Mama pays too much for, but these small, "just for me", birthday parties, will be the ones I hope they will remember when they are grown. He loved the blue icing!
Of course, big sister thought the red icing was the best to use as lipstick! She's a silly, silly, girl who always has fun no matter what she is doing! Love both these sweet babies!

A Sunrise and Beautiful Littles...
It's been a day or two since I posted but I've been busy with the Grandblessings. Last weekend they stayed with us for two days. They always keep me hopping but I wouldn't take anything for the times they are here. One day...I think it was last Friday...we had a day that was warm enough to go out and play.
Hoss loves to jump on the trampoline and was excited to be outside. He is pointing at an airplane flying over.
His sister would rather be digging for worms. Notice her bow and arrows. I'm not sure what she was planning to do if she actually found a worm but I'm happy she didn't! She is such a tomboy. She is her Granny's granddaughter, that's for sure!
I have had this old sheet laying around for years. I don't know where I got it but it doesn't have pillow cases or the fitted sheet when I got it. Finally, I decided to make an apron out of it. I got the apron cut out and realized I will probably never use the rest of the sheet, so I decided to cut out some quilt squares. I need something girly for our spare room. I get so tired of looking at all the gender neutral stuff around here! My Mister is very grateful that I've decorated that way, since we got married some twenty odd years ago, but I think I need something pretty for a change. Anyhow, I thought these squares, along with some pink flowery fabric, white and light green accents, would make a cute quilt. Of course, then I will have to try and match the material to make curtains but that's the fun of it, right?
I don't think I've introduced y'all to the second cat we adopted. This is Aja (pronounced Asia). She is our little mysterious gal. She loves to hide. When she does come out, she tends to be very vocal...almost to the point of needing a sock stuffed in her mouth! LoL She is a pretty Torti girl but this picture doesn't show that. She looks like a gray tabby here but she isn't. Probably the gray floor bringing out her gray. Good Lord, I'm not going to lay on that floor. My gray shows well enough!
One morning, I woke up to this eerie sunrise. Not quite sure what was going on but I suspect a cold front was chasing away the warm weather. It was way more amazing that this picture shows. I may have to edit it just a bit to bring out the pretty colors.
Well, I need to go make sure the outside animals have food and water. We are supposed to have some freezing rain, later, and I sure don't want to be out in that mess!
