The Termination of the Red Room was a planned search taken up by Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova to find and bring down the Black Widow Program, commanded by General Dreykov.
Since the 1980s, Dreykov had been amassing an army of Black Widows, by abducting and brainwashing thousands of girls across the world. As they performed undercover missions across the globe, the existence of the Red Room was threatened once the Red Dust was leaked, eventually falling into Belova's possession. Romanoff, a fugitive since the Avengers Civil War, allied with Belova to locate Dreykov, who had sent an army of Black Widows led by Taskmaster to capture them and the Red Dust. Having joined forces with their former surrogate family, the Red Room was rendered defunct when they sabotaged and brought down the mobile Red Room Academy, destroying their operations.
After Dreykov's death, Belova, Alexei Shostakov and Melina Vostokoff sought to successfully liberate all Black Widows across the world.
