Best suicide pact ever made.
I can't think of a better movie than this to start this Halloween season, especially after the shit storm of a week that I'm coming from. Fucking Hellraisers.
The movie follows Tucker and Dale who decide to go on a vacation to their cabin in the mountains. Their vacation takes a nasty turn when they are mistaken for chainsaw killers by a group of college students.
In almost every slasher flick especially the ones that are set in the countryside, there are always a few cringe moments, a few cliches, or a few predictable arcs, fuck sometimes even the entire movie is predictable which makes the whole experience dull. But when it comes to this movie these three elements are a matter of life and you can't have enough of them. Now even though it's embracing all of those elements to the fullest it hardly reaches a point where it starts gaging you by overdoing it in the worst way possible, it knows where the boundary is, a boundary that separates it from other spoof films for its own good. The best movie with which i can relate to the tone of this movie would be "Evil Dead 2013", what unexpected over-the-top violence and gore did for ED13 is pretty similar to the way all the deaths take place in this movie, and the humour that comes with it, even on a rewatch when you know what's going to happen next you can't help but start giggling to the scene that is about taking place on the screen like a total moron.
When it comes to humour, this is the most I have ever laughed in a horror comedy, there is not a single moment that feels out of place or is trying way too hard to please its audience. And the credit for it goes to the portrayal of all its characters and how none of them make any active effort to resolve the misunderstandings and even when they do during the final sequence it all goes tits up because them "Kallage kids" are hell bend on killing themselves and everyone else involved in that situation, fuck me but Chad is literally the one of the biggest dickwad ever🤣🤣. But the man of the match has to go to Dale played by Tyler, his comic timing was just perfect, every time he says something, I can't help but smile like a total retard, what a wholesome character. He has "Brung" joy to my life.
Overall it's an amazing flick and hits almost similarly as it did the first time.
