The nicest guys are the most psycho. They’re just better at hiding it.
Dug the kills/gore, all the shoutouts to original Grindhouse faux trailer, and the fact Eli Roth even used that same title font from it. Blood Rage is still the best and most ridiculous Turkey Day related horror movie of all time tho.
David Slade never lets down but was surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did. Never read the book so had no clue the story would go that hard and end up having something to actually say. Plus it helps that the “monster” looks like a grown up version of Sam from Trick ‘r Treat. So good.
Just realized I could log this. The Curse def had its moments. However, the penultimate episode should’ve been the final episode. The final episode was crazy and kind of funny but ruined all that momentum the previous episode set up. Emma Stone will forever slay tho. That’s for sure def apparent.
So silly and so stupid and that made this one at least kinda fun. The first one took itself way way too seriously and was kind of boring. Either way, Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson are threesome goals.
Was not expecting to get as emo as I did during this. Traumatic events follow us all around in different ways. Some people keep it inside and some people use it as a weapon to destroy others. One thing’s for sure: Kyle Gallner always.
Insane. A hybrid of The Talented Mr. Ripley and Carol and I loved all the shoutouts and homages to old school romance movies. Anne Hathaway stole every scene and she played me and homegirl because I didn't even see that third act coming at all. Saw the ending coming once that part finished but damn, haven't been surprised like that in a minute.
The way this movie makes you come to your own conclusions regarding what happened after all the "evidence" is presented. So clever. Also, I took French for like two years in high school and I still would be requesting a translator even if I lived in France with my French husband because I don't know a lot of French cuss words and profanity is my love language. Sandra Hüller is everything btw. Her face tracks all the emotions. That scene where they play the recording is so good.
Flawless. Amazing. Perfect. Emerald Fennell taps into that aristocratic bullshit and puts it on its knees. This movie is so deliciously ridiculous and made me laugh and cringe so hard and I appreciate that so much. The cast. The soundtrack. The setting. They give everything. I'm gonna end up watching this a lot of times.
Stayed up until the sun started rising to watch this and it was worth me feeling like a zombie that day. There’s so much complication and heartache in this story and only Todd Haynes could portray it in a way that fully examines that while keeping it witty and kinda wacky. Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore are perfect as usual but the real surprise is Charles Melton. He conveys everything on his face and you feel the naivety even though he’s a grown ass man. That final conversation between him and Julianne where she places blame on him broke my fucking heart.
