★★★½ Rewatched 13 Oct 2019
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
*SPOILERS GALORE*
Jill Larson's acting as Deborah Logan is absolutely frightening and criminally underrated. An unsettling view into a descent into madness. A woman suffering from what is believed to be Alzheimer's disease is also being possessed by the spirit of a child killing pediatrician.
Scenes where she just appears out of nowhere really fast or she's scampering by in the background or standing in the dark. Security camera footage where she quickly goes from standing on the floor to…

There isn't much here in this short but it's enough to build interest. I've never read the book "Consume" so I know nothing about the story. It's probably best that I keep it that way. This short is supposedly a preview for a mini series for Consume. Rumors have suggested it may be back in production for Netflix.
So I am left with questions that I'd love to see addressed in the mini series. Is the woman suffering from a…

I went into this one expecting a ripoff of "Let the Right One in" and it kinda is, but it's more than that. Michael O'Shea's spin on the time tested formula really works. It's never proven that this boy really is a vampire. He might just be a lunatic serial killer with a fixation for blood. I think this is important and it's the main thing that sets itself apart from it's obvious inspiration. Chloë Levine knocks it out of…

I went into this film with no spoilers. I didn't even know what it was about. Holy fuck was I taken by surprise.
I guess this is one of those films that's supposed to have some kind of meaning behind it. Is it about man's impact on nature? Is "him" god? Is she mother nature? Is the house supposed to be Earth? Is the coughing guy Adam and his wife Eve? Is this all a weird spin on god, Adam…

This film was a pleasant surprise. I'd never heard of it until a few days ago but a movie about a serial killer played by Dylan Mcdermott... I was all in. He was excellent as you'd expect but I wasn't crazy about the lead, Charlie Plummer's acting.
Don't go into this expecting a ton of action. There is almost none of that, and that's ok. The movie moved a bit slow but it built a good story. The way they…

An amazing continuation to one of the best shows ever made. Twin Peaks: The Return picks up 25 years after the masterpiece that is Twin Peaks and furthers the story of Agent Dale Cooper and the strange Northwestern town of Twin Peaks. Will there finally be the conclusion that fans have been waiting two and a half decades for?
Nope....and somehow that's ok. This is basically an 18hr movie that ends with another cliffhanger. A tremendous feat that will be…

I went into this one expecting a stinker but it wasn't bad at all.
Our main character is a skeptic that has his own TV show in which he debunks psychics, ghosts, the supernatural, etc. He was raised in a religious Jewish family. One day he gets a recording in the mail. It's from his hero, a man that once debunked ghost stories. This man changed his life and showed him that it's ok to reject the mysticism he was…

Ok. Wow. It's not often that a movie throws me off guard but this one did. The backstory is just as nuts as the movie itself. Andrew Getty, heir to the Getty oil fortune was a meth addict who used his fortune to make this movie. He hired all all the actors and took 5 years to wrap up shooting. Then he spent almost 10 years editing the movie himself in his mansion. He died from complications stemming from his…

I've been on a bit of an anthology film kick and I stumbled upon this one on Tubi. "Watch if you Dare" is probably one of the worst ones I've seen. All 4 of the stories seem to revolve around obsessions with human skin and a few other assorted body parts.
The Stylist is about someone who is obsessed with hair.
Ink is about someone who obsessed with tattoos.
Foodies is about a man who is obsessed with food.
Knob…

Overall George Romero's career is a mixed bag of great and awful. This anthology has all of that. George himself makes an appearance in between each of the three stories in poorly edited segments full of terrible one liners.
The first story is about cave explorers who become trapped and do what they have to to survive. I enjoyed this one.
The second story is about an uptight asshole of a college professor that gets himself into a crazy situation.…

Extremely boring movie. At least it was short and it sets up what can turn into a good story. There are two sequels on Amazon Prime and I intend on watching them both today to see if turns out better.

This movie surprised me. I enjoyed it for the most part but the ending was extremely dumb and it all started with the weird out of place music.
With that being said, on a positive note, I was genuinely surprised a few times and the overall story was very good. Sorta Black Swan with a Shyamalan-esque twist.
