This is probably one of my favorite cosmic horror films. For an independently made horror film, cobbled together for less than $100,000, this film far and away shines above Hollywood’s attempts at doing similar stories. The effects are amazing and really recall the creature effects in The Thing. However, this film’s effects might be that much more impressive considering they were working with such a small budget.
The way the story plays out too is pretty inventive as the characters get…

Tales of Halloween is a horror anthology that mostly sits on the shitty side of the scale, but it has it's bright spots. Its certainly not as awful as Deadtime Stories or Watch if you Dare, but certainly not great like Creepshow either. This one is more on par with mid level anthologies like Body Bags and that is a shame when considering the solid cast featuring names like Adrienne Barbeau, Lin Shaye, Adam Green, and Barbara Crampton as well…

Sir Anthony is in his full “I’m turning up in a bib with a shaker of salt because I got scenery to eat” mode for this one. You think the fucking director of Jurassic Park 3 is going to tell Hopkins to tone it down? Bahahaha.
This has all the things you love to hate about 2010s horror. An over stuffed backstory. Shoddy CGI. Weird beards and suspect facial hair. Romantic leads with no chemistry. An overreliance of blue:gray filters…

Damn this movie was intense, suspenseful and just completely blown me away
The performances in this movie was amazing especially Florence Pugh I felt so bad for her character Dani
Her boyfriend Christian was a dick so was his friends too they deserved what they got
I started rooting for Dani & Pelle it looks like she founded a family a twisted and different one but one overall
This movie was good 7.8/10

“You are VALAK! The defiler! The profane! The maquis of snakes! In the name of the Father, the Holy Spirit - I condemn you back to hell!”
Top 4 horror movies for me. Idk what to say about this movie that I haven’t already, it truly is amazing. Every horror movie I watch, I look for a hint of the conjuring in it. This was a great follow up after the first one, and I’m excited to see the new one this year. 9.5/10 movie.

This was a harddd watch! Octavia Spencer was so good at making me so uncomfortable. I do feel this movie was screwed with by its director, Tate Taylor. What a weird dude. It started out so good and weird and then just floundered. I will say that there is lots of star power that gets wasted! Especially Alison Janney, it feels like there was more scenes with her that just got cut for time and flow. This movie also feels…

"You are watching 50 Best Horror Movies You've Never Seen" - P.J. Soles
That line of dialogue will be stuck in your head for fifty days after watching this show. That's because she says it before and after every film summary and segment. Sometimes multiple times in a row! This is like one of those early 2000's VH1 shows that would count down things with little factoids and brief summaries from minor celebrities and crew members. Sort of like Pop…

I don’t get it. The aggregate on here is more shocking than anything in the movie. Mark Duplass can be a convincing creep, but the jump scares are lazy and the main character is annoying. Considering the small scale of this movie, when those two things are a problem, it becomes a glaring problem. I kinda thought seeing this again after eight years might change my mind, but at no point was I scared and outside of some of Duplass’…
