    You don’t need to be a huge fan of The Shining to see that this is an excellent continuation of the story.

    Mike Flanagan, taking on the task of adapting Stephen King and using the same cinematic language as Kubrick, has brass balls, and his output these last few years is truly remarkable. Let him direct whatever he wants.

    I have all the respect in the world for this movie because it dared to be different. Everyone who had a part in bringing this to the silver screen should be proud, because they are getting rid of the notion that superhero movies need to have cities in danger, skyline destruction, and robot armies to be worth people's time.

    Jordan Peele. Damn. This movie certifies that in their relationship, Key is the right brain and Peele is the left brain.

    Get Out isn't the best horror movie I've seen in the last 5 years, but it just might be the most clever. Peele's vision is clear and biting.

    M. Night Shyamalan has hit his groove as a filmmaker. Looking back, Hollywood should have recognized that this guy is at his best inside of a sandbox because as soon as he tries to leave it, Avatar happens.

    When Patriot's Day works, it WORKS. When it doesn't, it'll make you cringe just a little.

    Berg's main weakness, that is fully on display in this movie, is that he struggles is filling in the empty spaces between the action and intrigue.

    Instead of complex, real characters, he subs in ideological everymen (always played by Mark Wahlberg) that make all the right choices, no matter what.
