Happy 25th anniversary to this magical memory of a movie. No matter how many times I see it I always get lost in the AIR that is the puzzled mysteria. Some of the best needle drops in film history in here, no doubt.

Fulfilled a 5 year long obsession tonight & finally got to see this boisterous beauty on a big screen. Nothing else as fluid & as free as it, I could live in the wardrobe/set dressing forever.

“There’s not a lot of us doing what we’re doing. With Chad, it felt like we finally had a little squad, you know? It went from being the 2 of us to 3… And then it went back down to 2 again”

that quote fucked me up so good, i had to give this a rewatch. cool to see how the filmmaking with the ancestral plane / parental trauma stuff here makes its way into sinners in multiple instances.

    DIRECTORS CUT

    ITS ALIVEEEE! - April Ghoul’s [2025]

Tarsem Singh‘s The Cell is an afterthought to the nihilism of Fincher’s Se7en and the psychological emotion of The Sixth Sense, and aside from Bram Stroker’s Dracula-inspired costume design, it fails to elicit anything other than being dumbfounded. Granted, the dreamlike thematic and production design evokes a sense of otherworldly and peculiar sentiment but narratively fails to stir thought or feeling different…

    THIRD VIEWING

    Women in Film [2025]

The Matrix Resurrections is a film that I did not want but a film im so glad exists. It is a feature that feels so far from its three predecessors (I’ve had to dig deep to accept the score with the lack of Davis and Reactor) that it almost feels like a blurred…

extremely fun episode. successful use of writing a "connected universe" - glad they stuck the landing sequelizing one of my favourite past episodes. depiction of drug addiction here felt realistic. id recommend this to anyone who’s played the sims or had a tamagotchi as a kid. incredible marketing tactic how netflix has released a real "Thronglets" game i can play through the streamer on my phone.

Brilliant and essential Jewish cinema. The intersection of Judaism and Rom-Com that is so unbelievably up my alley. I cannot believe I hadn't seen this before now, but thankfully the 4K Criterion will support me for countless watches!
