Verdant Meadows is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas given to protagonist Carl Johnson by government agent Mike Toreno from his ranch near Robada Intersection in Tierra Robada, San Andreas.
Description[]
Toreno tells Carl that he used Sweet as an excuse to get Carl to do jobs for him. They aren't releasing Sweet yet, but they are looking after him. Toreno says he needs Sweet alive just as much as Carl does.
After the last mission, Interdiction, a price was put on Carl's head. Toreno tells Carl that he needs him to start doing some real wet work, and orders him to purchase Verdant Meadows Airfield, an abandoned airstrip outside Las Venturas.

- Go to the abandoned airstrip and buy it.
Reward[]
The reward for completing this mission is an increase in Respect and the mission Learning to Fly is unlocked.

- Jethro: Yo, CJ, It's, like, Jethro, dude!
- Carl Johnson: Hey Jethro, how is it?
- Jethro: Yo, dude, the garage is coming along nicely, man. But I rang about something else. There's an unofficial street racing club in San Fierro.
- Carl Johnson: Unofficial, as in 'illegal', right?
- Jethro: I don't know what you're talking about, dude. Anyhoo, they meet up around the driving school someplace. Thought you might, y'know, like to know.
- Carl Johnson: Thanks, Jethro. I'm a think about it, and I'll holla at you. Later, man.
Walkthrough[]
Mike Toreno is reading a book in his ranch.
Carl arrives to meet him.
Toreno tells CJ that the history represented in the book is made up of lies...
...such as that Hitler killed himself and they nuked Japan...
...and people believe it...
...but concludes it is fine if it makes them sleep better at night.
CJ asks what Toreno actually wanted from his previous task, and asks if Toreno will release his brother from jail.
Toreno says he will not release Sweet yet...
...and that he said that so that CJ would do something for him.
CJ is disappointed.
But Toreno says he will look after Sweet...
...because he needs him alive as much as CJ does.
CJ thanks him.
Toreno says CJ has become a pro after what he did for him.
He says there are double agents who want to put a price on CJ's head...
...and there is a Russian spy who wants to interrogate CJ.
CJ tells Toreno to leave him alone.
Toreno tells CJ to not worry about it...
...because the Russians have bigger things to worry about than CJ...
...and that the whole country went down after the crown jewels were given away.
CJ asks what Toreno wants him to do.
Toreno says he wants CJ to buy some property...
...which shouldn't cost much...
...and kill them if they don't want to go through with the deal.
Toreno wants CJ to start doing wet work for him...
...and tells him to leave...
CJ leaves.
CJ must now go and purchase the abandoned airstrip for $80,000.
