“You know, the Forelli's are sending over a crew to hit me. Their flight gets in soon - traveling as a string quartet. Ha ha! I was going to send some of the boys over as a little welcoming committee, but, uh, maybe you can take care of it.”
Salvatore is sitting in his office at Caligula's Palace when Maria appears and gives him the sandwich he ordered. After a while, Carl Johnson shows up and informs Salvatore about having worked with his son Joey Leone back in Liberty City and that he can do anything Salvatore wants from him. Carl is informed that a Shamal plane is arriving at the airport soon and it contains Forelli hitmen coming to kill Salvatore. Carl then makes his way to the Las Venturas Airport and steals a Dodo. He flies over to the Shamal and follows it. After catching up to it, Carl jumps out of his Dodo and gets in the Shamal, killing every Forelli hitman inside, as well as the pilot. He then flies the plane back to the airport, completing the mission.
Mission Objectives[]
Get to the airport
Steal the plane in the hangar
The hitmen's flight is due to land soon, intercept the plane before it gets to Las Venturas
Get behind the plane and fly into the corona
Kill the Forelli hitmen
Kill the pilot
Fly the plane back to the airport
Reward[]
The reward for completing this mission is $15,000 and an increase in respect. The mission High Noon is also unlocked if the mission Misappropriation is completed.
Oh, (stutters) one man fucking army! Uh, real dependable. Total fucking maniac, too.
Salvatore:
You know, the Forelli's are sending over a crew to hit me. Their flight gets in soon - traveling as a string quartet. (laughs) I was going to send some of the boys over as a little welcoming committee, but, uh, maybe you can take care of it.
CJ:
Thank you, sir. I guarantee you, you won't regret this.
Ken:
Uh, maybe I should go along...
Ken gets up from the sofa, only for the sofa to move to the window, revealing that the rope is tied to it, causing Paul and Maccer to yell in panic. Ken hurries back to the sofa so that his friends don't fall to their deaths.
Ken:
That's OK, I'm comfortable, I'm fine.
Salvatore:
You stay where you are, Rosenberg. I don't want you getting yourself lost.
CJ leaves the office and goes to Las Venturas Airport to steal a Dodo in a hangar. He uses it to intercept a Shamal headed for the city. He jumps out of the Dodo and skydives towards the Shamal, opens its door, and gets inside the jet, where he finds four Forelli members.
Forelli Member #1:
Hey, what's going on?
Forelli Member #2:
Shit, how the fuck did he get here?
Forelli Member #3:
Who cares?!
Forelli Member #4:
Waste him!
CJ kills the Forelli members, but now has to confront the plane's pilot.
Pilot:
I ain't going down without a fight!
CJ kills the pilot, highjacks the plane, and lands it at the Las Venturas Airport.
Post-Mission Phone Call[]
NOTE: This phone call will not happen right after this mission if the player hasn't completed Misappropriation yet, but will happen after completing that mission.
Frank Tenpenny: Carl! You got that dossier?
Carl Johnson: Yeah, I got the files. What you want me to do with 'em?
Frank Tenpenny: We need to meet up someplace quiet and take care of things. There's a ghost town, Las Brujas in the Devil's Castle, you know it?
Carl Johnson: Yeah, I'll find it.
Frank Tenpenny: I know you will. I'll see you there. Carl.

Trivia[]
Freefall is unique for allowing Carl to take cover instead of crouching during the shootout. Also, the player plays from a first-person perspective.
Regardless of the player's arsenal of weapons, CJ is automatically equipped with a 9mm pistol (single or dual wielded depending on the player's weapon skill), which is the only weapon he is allowed to use during the firefight. If the player carries a pistol that is not a standard 9mm, the mission will empty the pistol slot upon completion of the mission.
This mission's cutscene represents the first chronological appearance of Maria Latore.
The mission does not actually require the player to turn around and follow the plane. An easier method is to simply fly straight into the corona while still flying east.
Carl's Dodo is capable of flying as fast as the Shamal, which is odd since the Shamal can normally travel much faster than the Dodo. Giving the Shamal a slower speed was most likely done for mission purposes; to prevent the mission from being too difficult. However, it still requires extreme accuracy to not fall too far behind the Shamal as it would be very difficult to catch the plane before it is too late.
If CJ destroys the hijacked Shamal, the mission fails, even though the mission's main objective has already been reached. It is suggested that the Forellis intended the plane to return to Liberty City and was instead commandeered by CJ to mask his arrival to the city for a Forelli hit at Marco's Bistro.
If CJ fails to reach the Shamal as it reaches land, it will stop flying straight and lose control. The mission will also fail.
An FCR-900 spawns on the sidewalk after the cutscene ends should the player need it to get to the airport.
