"Unplugged" is the first segment of the twelfth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on April 24, 2015 alongside "Junked".
Plot[]
In his room, Miles is playing a holo-game when his Lazerang zooms by the hallway. Miles realizes that Leo must have finished upgrading it, and rides M.E.R.C. to chase it all the way to the workshop. There, Leo reveals that he added a new energy-saver mode to the Lazerang. As a result, it will last twice as long without a charge. Phoebe then calls everyone for breakfast.
The Callistos then eat breakfast, and Stella tells them to enjoy it. Miles resumes his holo-game practice, and Phoebe says that today's mission is to fly above the Damaris solar station to see if anything needs repairs. Leo says that the planet is hot, but Loretta finds out that there are bugs there as big as M.E.R.C. Leo tells everyone to finish their breakfast, as if they hurry, they may see something space-tacular. Miles then finishes his level.
The Callistos take the Star Jetter to Damaris, and Leo reveals the reason why he likes moving from dark to light: to enjoy the closest thing to an Earth sunrise. Miles, however, can not see his game. Phoebe sees through her holo-screen that the star is producing a lot of solar flares, which are sudden bursts of energy. If the flare is big enough, it can shut down anything electronic, including Miles' holo-game. Loretta sees that the flare looks very big. Leo tries to get the Star Jetter to the ground, but the ship and the holo-game lose power. Eventually, the ship crashes to the ground, and the Callistos confirm that they are all right. Loretta and Miles see that all electronics are down, including their Questcoms, so they can not call for help. Since the Star Jetter is missing an engine, the ship can not take off. The flare also caused M.E.R.C. to lose power, and Loretta and Phoebe decide to get the emergency supplies. Leo restarts M.E.R.C., who is stuck in Basic Mode until they find a charger. This means no wings, no boosters, and no shields. Phoebe realizes that someone ate all of their emergency rations, and Miles says that M.E.R.C. thought that was the snack compartment. With the Callistos unable to be found until they miss their next check-in in five days, they decide to head to the solar station, which is shielded from solar flares.
The Callistos decide to walk their way there, and Miles decides to ride M.E.R.C., who only bounces in Basic Mode. After a while, Miles falls off, and M.E.R.C. picks him up. Miles tells him that they will get him back to normal soon. The Callistos then see some shade, and take a break there. Loretta realizes that she read something about the holes on the planet and is about to check it with her Bracelex when she realizes that that is shut down, as well. Miles sees through the hole, seeing that it is dark. Loretta realizes that the bugs she read about like darkness, and tells everyone to get out of the shade. Loretta sees that those bugs are Scorabs, who do not like and, according to Miles, people. It is not just night when the Scorabs come out, it is another time when they come out, one that Loretta can not remember when. Miles wants some water, and Phoebe knows that the trees she sees up ahead must be getting water from somewhere.
Once the Callistos arrive there, Leo tests the temperature, and it is perfect. Loretta gets a desert turnip, and asks anyone for dinner. Leo likes the idea, and wonders where the Callistos decide to sleep. Miles sees a rock which the Callistos can climb up, but the Scorabs can not. Miles wonders why the Callistos do not eat desert turnips at home, and Phoebe says that they do, it is just the vegetable in the salads Miles does not like. The Callistos like the view of the night sky, and Miles and Loretta like being here. Just then, the Scorabs attempt to climb the rock, but fail.
Once morning comes, the Callistos wake up to see an awesome view, and Leo says that that is worth waking up for. They then continue their path to the solar station, and eventually make it there. Miles re-assures M.E.R.C. that they will find a way up there without booster when Loretta sees fog. She is not worried about the fog, it is what is in the fog she is concerned about. Loretta also realizes that the Scorabs also come out when its foggy, and the Callistos see that. Miles knows how to get to the top, and decides to ride M.E.R.C. with Loretta to get there. Once at the top, M.E.R.C. can come back for Leo and Phoebe. Once Miles, M.E.R.C., and Loretta get to the top, Leo and Phoebe fight the Scorabs with sticks. Since M.E.R.C. can not get back to Leo and Phoebe in time, Miles has an idea.
Miles launches his Lazerang with his Blastbuckle tether sticking with it to Leo and Phoebe. Once the two grab on to the Blastbuckle, it gets lifted off of the ground to the top. Miles says that that was all M.E.R.C. After M.E.R.C. is congratulated, Phoebe hopes the solar station's com system works. Phoebe contacts the SpaceGuard, and Lieutenant Luminix calls. Phoebe informs him of the Star Jetter being completely disabled, and Luminix tells the Callistos to stay where they are, as they will send a SpaceGuard cruiser to take them home. Although Leo tells the Callistos that once they return to the Stellosphere, they will get their electronics back again, Miles and Loretta say that for now, they like it without them.
In the Stellosphere's bio-garden, the Callistos are having a camp fire. Miles still can not believe how high M.E.R.C. can jump in Basic Mode, and the Callistos agree. M.E.R.C. is glad to be back to normal, and Miles tells him that there is nothing like a hug from M.E.R.C., who hugs Miles and Loretta.
