"Grendel's Moving Castle" is the first segment of the sixty-fifth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on January 8, 2018 alongside "The Great Gadfly", and is the first segment of the eleventh episode in the third season.
Plot[]
One time, Grendel's sword heads through outer space and lands on the resort of Planet Alarbus. Grendel herself heads out of the sword, and enjoys the planet itself. She needs a place to live, so she decides to make a huge castle with her sword. Grendel also activates the shield as a security system to protect her new world. She is then confronted by the robots, and introduces herself to them. Grendel tells them that she has been looking for a place to build her kingdom, and plans to take the planet for herself. This shocks the robots, especially Ruggles, who tells her that she can not do that. Grendel tells everyone that she takes only what she wins fairly and most squarely. She will give the robots their planet back, if the robots can beat her at one of her games. The robots, however, are bad at the games, and Grendel laughs evilly about this.
Meanwhile on the Zenith, Miles and Mirandos are playing chess when Zeno informs them of a call from Ruggles. Once the call is received, Ruggles informs Miles, Mirandos, and the rest of Mission Force One about the situation on Alarbus and Grendel taking over the planet unless the robots win her game. Since she has not decided who should be on Ruggles' team, Ruggles may have just outsmarted her. Miles decides to add himself, Mirandos, and Loretta to Ruggles' team while Haruna, Blodger, and M.E.R.C. stay on the Zenith. Miles, Mirandos, and Loretta then take the red space jet to Alarbus.
Miles finds out that with the energy shield covering the entirety of Alarbus, there is only one way to the planet: the Skyrise Space Elevator, even if Grendel shut it down. Miles decides that he, Loretta, and Mirandos can travel down the cable with their blast pods. The three then perform their signature catchphrase, activate their suits to mission mode, and head down the cable with the blast pods. Once at the resort, Grendel confronts them and the other robots. She then announces the start of the game, which is to deactivate the shield at the top of her castle before the sand in the hourglass runs out, but before she does so, she deactivates the blast-jets so Miles, Mirandos, and Loretta can not fly. Grendel creates some enemy robots, which are out to stop Ruggles' team in the "amaze-ing" level, which is to escape a maze full of Grendel's robot army without getting caught. Loretta, Miles, and Mirandos activate their spacesuits' special gadgets to deactivate the enemy robots, while one robot gets caged by an enemy robot. Ruggles is hovering away when he accidentally deactivates an enemy robot. Ruggles assumes that he did not know he had it in him.
Miles, Mirandos, Loretta, and Ruggles escape the maze, which deactivates itself afterwards, and are shocked to see a robot caged. Grendel announces, while rhyming the words, that their journey has brought them to the start of level two, with her castle now in view. Grendel then activates the second level, which is to stay on the stones unless they would like to be captured in a sand trap. Ruggles decides to go through the level by hovering, but a rock flings him into the air, getting him caught in the sand trap as a result of Ruggles touching the sand. Miles, Mirandos, and Loretta go through the rocks, which do very different things, but right at the end, Miles falls off, and Loretta saves him, but she gets caught in a sand trap. Miles tells Grendel to let Loretta go, but Grendel says not while the game is still in progress. Loretta says that she is okay, and tells Miles and Mirandos to get to the top of the castle and deactivate the shield before the time runs out.
Grendel then welcomes Miles and Mirandos to the final level, and hopes that they are fleet of foot, as her castle is. By that, Grendel's castle floats away, and Loretta tells Miles and Mirandos to get her. Grendel is using everything at the castle as enemies to Miles and Mirandos. Even though Miles and Mirandos successfully dodge the obstacles and make it to the staircase, the staircase goes backwards. Grendel then creates a suit of armor, which cages Mirandos, leaving Miles as the only one left. Miles deactivates the suit of armor, and makes it to the top of the staircase. Finally, Miles makes it to where the shield is, and deactivates it with his blast shield, deactivating the energy shield, ending the game, and freeing those trapped during the game in the process. Unsatisfied, Grendel gives up Alarbus to the robots.
Miles assumes that getting the job done has some unexpected perks, like a well-deserved vacation. Miles and Mirandos resume the chess game with Mirandos winning while the others surf the beach.
