"The Silence of the Tchotchkes" is is the first segment of the thirty-eighth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Hamster & Gretel.

On September 18, 2024, the episode was released early on Disney+.

Synopsis

Fred turns to Tchotchke Jones for help finding a new villain that has shrunk Kevin.

Plot

Fred has been having nightmares involving losing Tchotchke Jones' shrink ray during an altercation with Professor Exclamation and having snake hands, leaving her tired while at the mall with Kevin and Anthony. However, Kevin is suddenly shrunken, leaving Fred, Hamster, and Gretel puzzled as to who could have been the culprit. Fred reluctantly confronts Tchotchke Jones while Kevin is kept in Hamster's cage, where Hamster explains to Kevin the advantages of being small.

During the confrontation, Tchotchke helps Fred realize that her nightmares were the result of a fear of putting her friends and family in danger after losing the shrink ray previously. It is then revealed that Tchotchke purchased the device from Micromanager, who proceeds to shrink Anthony as part of his plan to start a new burger franchise known as Microburger and shrink everyone in town. Kevin, Fred, Hamster, and Gretel arrive to defeat Micromanager, with Kevin dismantling Micromanager's suit by pulling at the wires. Afterwards, Fred restores Kevin and Anthony to their proper sizes before returning to Tchotchke's shop to take him back to jail, only to find that he has escaped.
