"Cheer Cheer Bang Bang" is the first segment of the fourth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Hamster & Gretel.
On August 17, 2022, the episode was released early on Disney+.
Synopsis[]
Fred goes deep undercover as a cheerleader.
Plot[]
A series of bank robberies led by cheerleaders leaves Kevin and Fred baffled, prompting an investigation. They decide that Fred will go undercover as a cheerleader to find out what all of this means. However, Fred lacks the peppiness to through with the plan, so Hamster and Gretel Grant-Gomez attempt to train her. When that fails, Gretel notices that Fred watches the anime Yuko Cheerleading Warrior Attack 7 and suggests that she pretend to be peppy, which she does, allowing her to make the team.
After some questioning, Gretel calls Fred into the locker rooms, where they attempt to search through the lockers; they then witness the coach using a hypnotic whistle on the cheerleaders, revealing her to be the culprit. Fred and Gretel discover that a cheer-like rhythm will counteract the effects of the whistle, prompting Fred to reluctantly perform a catchy dance number, freeing everyone from their mind control. Fred, Hamster, and Gretel then defeat the coach, after which Fred realizes that cheerleaders are cooler than she initially thought (as she learns earlier that they watch Yuko Cheerleading Warrior Attack 7 as well).
