Art Challenge - Day 3

My calligraphy teacher, mentor, and friend, Callinana, invited me to participate in the Five Day Art Challenge meme on Facebook.

You've heard of NanoWriMo? National November Write a Novel in a Month? This piece from November 2012 is from NanoJouMo, National Journal Page in a Month.

I heard we're supposed to get some more snow this weekend. Since I'm sick of the white stuff, thought this would be an appropriate choice. So far, the weather dudes are saying this storm will go further south of us and we won't get any snow. I hope they're right.

Mixed media collage. I did a similar page last year (2011) for a mixed media class recycling your own artwork. I even used the paper towels I used to blot soupy spots on the previous journal pages.  I'm happier with this incarnation.

"Dear God, If it must snow, can it snow chocolate instead?"

  1. Your calligraphy on this page is beautiful CJ. The page is pretty too. Its nice seeing some art. And I hope this snow doesn't come-and if it does, yes , PLEASE MAKE MINE CHOCOLATE TOO. Its been too much like January all last week. Happy spring-I think we are in a little warm up tomorrow. For at least 1 day. Hugs-Erika

  4. Yes, I've heard of NanoWriMo. Last year a blogger friend did both NanoWriMo and AEDM which is Art Every Day Month. It was all I could do to get through AEDM. We've had practically no snow this winter, but I would love it to snow chocolate instead of the white stuff we have to shovel. Great page.

    1. Haven't hear of AEDM. Is that done in November, too? You're right, hard enough to commit to one project without committing to two. Kudos to your friend.

We really haven't had a bad winter as far as snow totals go. Just so depressing when you thought Winter was over because you enjoyed unheard of
70 oF temps in Februrary and were looking forward to Spring. Then Mother Nature goes and drops a foot of snow on us. And even if shoveling chocolate were just as back breaking at least it would be delicious.

    2. Oh, and the art every day reminds me of a drawing class The Young One had while in college. The acronym her instructor used was MAHOD. Make a habit of drawing.
