I made a list of all the workshops from Workshop Week, the Society of Scribes Springfest 2021, and Intro to Procreate 5X. The list will help me keep track of the workshops I've done or just watched.

T Stands For Color Me Giddy

 

Workshop week offered a fun Procreate workshop Doodling Faces on Every Day Items by Donna Adi. I took a photo of a white coffee mug and imported it into Procreate.  I wasn't sure what I was doing and just piddledinked along, but managed this happy, little camper, and I was insufferably pleased with myself.

Not knowing where the tools are located in Procreate or how to use them properly was the impetus for me to take the Procreate workshop that I talked about a few weeks ago. After working through the first exercises, I was able to  make this guy.

 I'm working my way through the Procreate 5X for Beginners. After learning some of the basics of how tools, color palettes, and layers work, I was ready to put those things to work for the first project. A Floral Initial

Teela made the project very easy to follow along and to produce something that's worthy to hang on the refrigerator.

So I'm pretending to be a graphic artist. Whatcha doin?

Procreate Lettering Project

Nan has been trying to get me to do some artwork using the iPad and the Procreate app. There are several digital workshops in Workshop Week. For the first foray, I chose Beginner-Friendly Procreate Lettering Project with Jillian and Jordan of Loveleigh Loops.

The instructions were to import the quote "community over competition" into the Procreate app. Instructions were given to trace over the quote and to select a yellow and complementary blue to add color to the quote, and then to create a drop shadow. I was fine up to that point.

The second part of the exercise was to import a provided photo with a blank iPad on a blanket. No problem. Then resize the photo so that the quote was in the middle of the iPad. Somewhere along the line my quote tilted at an angle and I couldn't get the quote to align straight. Oh well. Wabi Sabi. Not bad for my first attempt. I need to rewatch the video to see where I went wrong.

 Something a little different for Wednesday. What am I working on?

I started a few of the digital art workshops from Workshop week and fumbled around using Procreate on the iPad. I managed to get the projects done, but I don't really know where all the tools and functions of the program are located.

Nan suggested that I take a free tutorial from Teela Cunningham to learn the ins and outs of Procreate.  There's also a Tuesday group where Teela offers, tips, tricks, and other resources every Tuesday. I signed up for that, too.

So, I'm making a foray into the digital artworld. Whatcha doin?
