Happy Halloween

Herself and Ink

This is my last entry for the Inktober and Fright-Fall 2021 challenges. I swapped the 7th day prompts Fan and Black Cat so I would be able to post the Black Cat Fan on Halloween. Halloween was the date chosen for Ink's birthday, and he would have turned 24 years old today. He loved sitting on my shoulder.

This piece was done by cartoonizing a photograph. The cartoonized photographed was printed, traced, and transferred into my Inktober journal. Micron Pigma pen and watercolor pencil.

Whatcha Doin?

Vincent has gathered the tools that I will need to participate in the Inktober and Fright-Fall challenges. He watched as I lettered the title page with a fun cat shaped alphabet I found online.

Mr. Spock reminded me that eating or drinking beverages is forbidden at this work station. Excuse me while I bring my teacup to the galley.

Whatcha doin?

T Stands for Which Challenge

Last week, I was preparing my journal so I could participate in the Inktober 2021 challenge. Then my friend, Andy, mentioned on his blog another challenge that ran during the month of October, Fright-Fall 2021 sponsored by Retro-Supplies

Inktober usually has prompts generated by a random word generator. So the list may have more concepts for drawing like pressure rather than something concrete like moon.

The prompts on the Fright-Fall list are seasonal for Halloween. Cool! And fun to be celebrating my favorite holiday. Retro-Supplies was also doing a contest where you could win an iPad or Apple pencils.

But now I was torn. Which challenge to do? This would be the fourth year I would participate in Inktober, but I liked the challenge prompts from Fright-Fall, too.  What to do?

Inktober is a challenge to oneself and even thought Fright-Fall was offering prizes you didn't need to enter to win in order to participate.

Over "coffee" (the term used to describe a break from work whether or not one drinks coffee or another beverage, in my case, tea.) my studio assistant, Ben Dover, said, "Why do you have to pick one challenge?

"Because, I'm not sure I can keep up with one challenge let alone trying to do two challenges."

"Why can't you combine them and do both?"

Light bulb! Ben Dover is so brilliant. So that's what I'm doing. Combining the prompts from both lists.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.
