The Waffle

My waffle was about to pop up from the toaster in its dark, nearly blackened perfection.

Himself walked by the toaster and commented

The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. We met the new baby at the annual Family Gathering

2. I Skyped with the Young One at the Gathering so she could be apart of it, too.

3. Over an hour search for Calli, but she was no where to be found. I looked in all the places and called and called. I thought maybe she had gotten by me when I went outside to take a picture of the sunset. I went outside with a flashlight calling and calling. When I went back to the sunroom, she suddenly appeared like a little ghost. We have no idea where her new hidey-hole is

4. Tubi has some great offerings of old movies. I watched "Judgement at Nuremberg" with Spencer Tracy and Richard Widmark 💙and "Taras Bulba" with Yul Brynner and Tony Curtis

5. Tiggy messaged me on Facebook asking if a wee package arrived.

The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. I stopped in at the post office to see if they had a 14 in x 14 in box to send the Young One's hat and other things to her. The flat rate boxes weren't big enough. S went out back and found a box from recycle that might work. The percs of living in a small town.

2.  I found a penny in the Target parking lot

3. I ordered a sun hat for the Eldest. The hat, from the Wallaroo Hat Co. ,arrived so I had a perfect hat box to mail the Young One's hat.

4. I finished watching The Mandalorian. For the most part, I enjoyed the story except for the puppets!

5. Driving home from Teague's there was a mama turkey crossing the road with her poult. It was the cutest, tiniest baby turkey I've seen.

4. I made pork spare ribs in the crock pot. Messy eating, but so delicious.

5. Another chat with the Young One about various materials to make a coptic stitch journal.

3. The Young One finally got the package with her happy, little gingerbread man mug. Everything arrived intact.

4. I started watching The Handmaiden's Tale

5.Grandmaster E called to tell me all about her trip to Newport. Lots of laughs.

The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Another Teaching Assistant luncheon. We tried for Lou Roc's Diner, but it was so crowded, and the wait was too long so we ended up at The 99 Restaurant

2. Quill was bored. The Young One went scouting under furniture and found a squeaky critter. It's like a new toy for Quill. He's not bored any more.

3. I'm working on a piece for the faculty show in January

4. Teague and I had giant Whoopie pies for dessert after our weekly lunch.

5. We subscribed to Disney Plus. We watched one of the old cartoons, The Skeleton Dance. Quill was really interested especially with the black cats.

1. Happy Birthday to me! Himself gave me some cool drawing tools and a beautiful Lapis Lazuli orb

2. Enjoyed Season 2 of Good Omens

Whatcha Doin? - Solstice

It's here! It's finally here. Summer!

The Doctor and I traveled in time to see the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge. Okay, the photo is from 2022. I wasn't going to be able to stay awake to watch the Solstice from Stonehenge this year, but I can pretend.

Whatcha Doin?

One of the things the Eldest and I loved to do was watch food porn (cooking shows). One of our favorite shows to watch was Worst Cooks in America. We'll hang out in the sunroom and finish bingeing Season 1. I forgot how much fun it was to watch with her and comment on these shows.

T Stands for Present and Treat

On this second day of Christmas, or third day depending on your reckoning, a present and a treat.

My Grinch mug ended up with a big chip so it couldn't be used to drink from. Himself gave me a new mug. The Grinch is savoring his coffee/tea and the saying: I  have either the time nor the crayons to explain this to you.

Himself had requested a Whoopie Pie as a treat he wanted at Christmas. I had every intention of making whoopie pies, but just haven't felt well enough to bake so I ordered some from the grocery store and had them delivered.

The consensus was the cake part was delicious, but the cream filling was really just a glob of canned frosting. Not the best, but the best I could do under the circumstances.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. The clerk at the post office was very helpful about the cards I was sending out for a class exchange. The envelopes were too thick to go through regular mail even though I had used 2 stamps.  She hand cancelled the stamps and marked the envelopes non-machinable.  She said they may go through the system so I'm keeping my fingers crossed

2. The cards went through!

3. The Young One and I watched Coraline. Spooky goodness

4. We watched the last episode of Jodie Whitaker's 13th Doctor. What?! I didn't see that regeneration coming

5. Teague and I went out to breakfast.
