Finally decided to try to get back to building Castle Keystone. (I know, it’s been forever.) Hadn’t felt motivated to do anything with it til now. Spent a lot of time fighting with these rectangular towers on the lower levels and their buttresses. They weren’t originally part of the design but I came back and the massive blank tiers overwhelmed me immediately so I thought I’d break them up a bit. I kept playing with the roofs. I like that they echo some of the ones from the front of the castle (not that you can see them from this angle…), but they feel like they take up a lot of space.

Also remembering the days without fill commands and structure blocks and not missing them. It’s nice to copy something over instead of having to wholly rebuild it. Although its also scary. I’ve been burned by loading my structure block in the wrong place or filling the wrong area in the past.

Final Version. I had a lot of fun with this. It’s much more colorful and whimsical than Rythian’s piece. With the final update I took  it out of space and put it into the Twilight Forest, although perhaps a more alien strange version of it. And because I mostly based this on Blackrock Chronicles she’s trying to stop an alien mushroom from entering the portal. Non transibis! (You shall not pass!) 

Teep

The start of a new fan art! This is Teep and his sniper rifle, and again this is a Blackrock Chronicles based fan art. It’s only fair that I do all of the major characters, right? ;)
