It's been so cold, the poor little ducky can't shake his tail feathers. So much for hoping the black basin would absorb the suns rays and keep the water from freezing solid.
Of course, it would help if we had more than one day of sunshine and Minnesota sending us their snow and freezing temps.
Is it July, yet?

I use those shallow rubber bowls one can get at the fee stores to water my geese, ducks and chickens through the winter months. They are really tough and flexible so I can beat the ice out of them... We just got freezing rain over six inches of snow here in Vermont. I am ever so ready for the warmer months to come back! Merry Christmas, Carroll
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, Carroll. I'll have to check around. I do live in a rural farm community. Never occurred to the city girl to check the feed stores.
DeletePoor Ducky.... :( (and you! Brrrr...)
ReplyDeleteBrrrr. is right.
DeleteBrrr.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays, CJ:)
Same to you, Sandra
DeleteI got up this morning to -10 F temps and -21 F feels like. The water in my kitchen was frozen solid. My heat couldn't keep up with it. It barely got above 0 F today, but I finally was able to get the water running again. At least I had it in the basement and both baths, so all was not lost. I can feel for your poor freezing ducky! Probably more than you know.
ReplyDeleteOh! You are so lucky your pipes didn't burst. Glad you were able to get the water flowing again. When temps are going down that low, we let the water trickle in the sinks overnight to prevent the pipes from freezing and bursting.
DeleteIt's freezing here too! LOL!
ReplyDeletePoor ducky!!
