Joshua "Josh" Souza is the runner-up of Big Brother 1 (US).
As a charismatic and charming presence in the house, Josh quickly found himself at the center of a love triangle with Jean Jordan and Brittany Petros. While Josh was sitting pretty in the first two rounds with no nomination votes to his name, he quickly found himself in danger as he was marked for banishment in the following two rounds after house pariahs Jordan and William Collins were banished, but he ultimately survived both times. Afterwards, Josh was able to make it through the next two rounds without being marked for banishment. During this time, however, Josh played a key role in the controversy surrounding Brittany's banishment at the influence of George Allen Boswell's family, as Brittany informed him of said controversy during a live nomination episode while he was in the Diary Room. Josh initially withheld this information from the other houseguests, but after various "anti-George" banners flew over the house via plane, Josh came forward and explained the controversy surrounding George's family and their role in Brittany's banishment. This information led a disheartened George attempting to convince the remaining houseguests to walk from the show during the next live episode in solidarity, although this did not come into fruition. At the final four, Josh was marked for banishment alongside the remaining houseguests, but he ultimately survived, punching his ticket to the finale alongside Eddie McGee and Curtis Kin. While Josh was a likable figure throughout his time on the show, he was unable to garner enough of the public vote to beat eventual winner Eddie, finishing second with only 27% of the public vote to win.

When not spending time on the courts, the field or in the pool, Josh is simply spending. He confesses to being a very serious shopper. When Josh's interests shift from athletic to entertainment, he's equally fond of love stories, fantasies and high-octane adventures. His favorite movies vary from the romance of "Love Affair" and "Pretty Woman" to the dramatic intensity of "Die Hard" and "The Shawshank Redemption". A fan of great British authors, Josh ranks Charles Dicken's "Great Expectations" and J.R.R. Tolkien's classic fantasy-adventures "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" among the best books he's read. Come vacation time, sunny California's not quite sunny enough for Josh. He likes to venture even further south to the sands of Cancun, Mexico. |
