I’m a father, husband, and owner of a local, independently-owned business. I’m not a political insider or a political party operative, unlike my opponents.
I got involved with the government while I worked to put up stop signs in my community and remove homeless encampments near schools and children’s playgrounds. Then I was elected to the neighborhood council.
I’m running for State Assembly because we need a real leader that will go to the Capitol and represent our communities by addressing the issues we see in front of our homes and throughout our communities day-in and day-out.
As your next Assemblymember, I will:
- Address the humanitarian crisis of homelessness, and fight to remove homeless encampments from around schools, libraries, and children’s playgrounds. - Work to expand the Clean California Grants to remove litter and transform public spaces throughout the district. - Work to implement the California CARE Court plan and get homeless individuals off the streets and into housing, treatment, and care. - Increase funding to mental health programs and hospitals. - Prioritize public safety to decrease retail crime and gun violence by reforming Prop 47. - Address the housing affordability crisis while allowing communities to maintain their character.
- I’m a lifelong Democrat, father, husband, and neighborhood council board member. I’m running for State Assembly because we need real change. I'm the only candidate running in the race that isn't a political insider or someone seeking a next step in their political career.
- As a father, I’m committed to enacting policies that address both the root causes of crime as well as the problems we see in our streets today.
- We must end the humanitarian crisis of homelessness. I will work tirelessly to bring resources into our district to give every person the care they deserve. By leveraging the state budget process, I will also fight to reinvest in mental health programs and hospitals cut by the Reagan Administration.
Clean Up Our Neighborhoods:
- Remove homeless encampments from next to schools, libraries, and children's playgrounds so that students can have safe schools and a healthy learning environment
- Expand Governor Newsom’s Clean California grants to $1 billion to remove litter and transform public spaces into points of pride in communities throughout the district
Taking Care of Our Homeless Residents:
- Reinvest in mental health programs and hospitals cut by the Reagan Administration
- Expand and improve Governor Newsom’s Community Assistance, Recovery, and Empowerment (CARE) Court program
Getting Smarter on Crime:
- Expand Governor Newsom’s Real Public Safety Plan to $1 billion in grants to local law enforcement agencies to increase their presence at retail locations and combat organized, retail crime so community members and small businesses across the district can feel safe
- Incentivize municipalities to put more funding into programs that divert people in crisis from the criminal justice system and emergency rooms to places of care and treatment
- Work with Attorney General Rob Bonta to reform Proposition 47 and battle organized, retail crime
- Lower the threshold for shoplifting felonies from $950 to $400
Recall District Attorney George Gascón for fighting to eliminate sentencing enhancements in criminal hate crime cases

During college, Nico began working in the entertainment industry. His first job was in New York as an intern on an indie film in the Grip and Electric Departments. He continued to work in both of those departments and as a stagehand. As his career went on, he bounced around departments – including the Camera and Art Departments, before eventually settling in the Sound Department, which is where he has been for 19 years.
