Gary Jones is a former federal magistrate judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida. He was appointed to this position on September 1, 2010, and retired at the end of his term in September 2018.[1][2]
Education
Judge Jones received his B.A. degree from Boston University in 1975, his J.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1981, and his LL.M. degree in International Law from the New York University School of Law in 1983.[3]
Career
Judge Jones began his career as a civil trial lawyer in Florida. He began at a large firm in Miami and later became a partner in a small litigation firm. He also worked as a part-time magistrate judge in the Northern District of Florida before he appointment to the Middle District in 2000.[3] In 2010, he was appointed back to the Northern District as a full-time magistrate judge.[4]
