Shane was a member of Team Britney. Shane proved himself to be a competiton threat winning 2 HOHs and 4 POVs. He was a member of the dominant The Quack Pack alliance. Though he shared a strong bond with former coach Britney Haynes and a Showmance with Danielle Murphree. At the final 4, while Shane initially safe as his closest ally Danielle won both HOH and POV, Dan Gheesling tricked Danielle into saving Dan by using the POV on him. Minutes after being saved from the block, Dan promptly betrayed her by evicting Shane.

- Shane was the second houseguest to win the first two Power of Vetoes in a single season, following Daniele Donato from Big Brother 8. They would be followed by Sam Smith from Big Brother 21, Derek Xiao from Big Brother 23, Michael Bruner from Big Brother 24, and Hisam Goueli from Big Brother 25.
- Shane was the first HouseGuest to win the first three Power of Veto competitions in a season. He would later be followed by Michael Bruner from Big Brother 24.
- Shane was the last member of Team Britney remaining in Big Brother 14.
- Shane is tied with James Zinkand, Frank Eudy, Ashleigh Wood, Kevin Martin, Kaela Grant, Kaycee Clark, Rohan Kapoor and Jag Bains for the most consecutive Power of Veto wins with three in a row, sometimes referred to as the Three-peat Veto.
- Shane was the second HouseGuest to win the Power of Veto in all three situations (as HOH, as a nominee, and as a picked player), sometimes referred to as the Trifecta Veto.
