While searching for Major Monogram & Carl in a swamp, Perry gets kidnapped by Dr. Doofenshmirtz's hillbilly cousin Bubba Doofenshmirtz, who plans on eating the Platypus. Meanwhile, the kids try to change Baljeet's perspective on the western movie genre by building a western town in the backyard.
Plot[]
Phineas and the gang decide to switch things up and head to a matinee. Buford is in the mood for a Western film, but Baljeet is critical of the genre. Buford bets him he could change his perspective.
Meanwhile, Major Monogram informs Perry that Heinz Doofenshmirtz is taking a day off from evil due to attending the Almond Brittle Convention, so Perry has the day off as well. Monogram and Carl are vacationing in Swampville when their fan boat gets caught in some rapids and capsizes. Perry goes off to rescue them. As Monogram and Carl wade in the muck, Monogram attempts to teach Carl to trust his "manly instincts". As Perry reaches the swamp in his motorboat, his engine stops working and explodes. So he dives into the swamp, but gets caught in a trap.
Back in the backyard, Phineas and the gang have transformed it into a "Forced Perspective Western Town", using several forced perspective tricks to make anything small look bigger and vice versa. While Baljeet is impressed, his perspective on the Western film genre remains unchanged.
Back at the swamp, the trap Perry is caught in is reeled in by a local hillbilly with a Cajun accent, Bubba Doofenshmirtz, who intends to have the "city duck" for his lunch. Monogram and Carl are still stuck in the mud and get surrounded by mudskippers. They get out of the situation by getting out of their boots and stripping to their under drawers and making their way toward a shack that happens to resemble Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated.
Back at the Forced Perspective Western Town, Candace declares herself the new sheriff of the town, but becomes confused by all the forced perspective tricks, some of which do not make sense. When her phone does not get any service, Ferb suggests she use the telegraph. Candace uses the seemingly giant telegraph to send a Morse code message to Linda. When she receives it, she decodes the first few words, but ignores the rest, when she figures it's another busting attempt.
At Bubba Doof's shack, Bubba explains he is the American cousin of Heinz. He was raised in the swamp, which is in the area of two other adjacent swamps and he intends to join the adjacent swamps so he can rule the Tri-Swamp Area. However, his plans are foiled by busy beavers building dams between the swamps, so he created the Beaver-inator to, with the help of his makeshift robot, Ned, hypnotize the beavers into eating their own dam where he succeeds. Perry attempts to escape, but it turns out that Bubba Doof is much more competent at making traps than his cousin as he plans to eat Perry, much to his horror. Suddenly, Bubba Doof notices Monogram and Carl hiding under the floorboards, and invites them up for lunch. Monogram and Carl are shocked to find Agent P trapped there but are more appalled that Bubba Doof wants to eat him. After an awkward "tasting" moment, Monogram tricks Bubba Doof into getting stronger spices so they could help Agent P escape. When Bubba Doof catches wise to this, the now freed Perry throws a sack over Bubba Doof's head, making him crash into Ned, as Monogram, Carl, and Perry run out of the shack.
Meanwhile, Baljeet's perspective on Western cinema does not seem changed, but he does ride off into the sunset with his plastic horse, and he accidentally knocks over the set.
Back at the swamp, Monogram, Carl, and Perry get away on Perry's motorboat as Bubba Doof chases them on his fan boat. Perry throws a can of mosquito repellant at the fan blades, making it catch fire and the boat to crash into the beavers' dams, causing a tidal wave, which reaches Danville, just in time for Mom's car to pull into the driveway.
As luck would have it, the tidal wave actually goes behind the backyard and Linda actually sees the Forced Perspective Western Town, which this whole time was smaller than it looked due to forced perspective. Linda is impressed, but Candace is confused, since this is not how forced perspective works. Linda suggests they watch a movie, and Baljeet suggests they watch a Western.
This is the first episode where Dr. Doofenshmirtz is physically absent. Instead, his cousin Bubba Doofenshmirtz appears, while the evil scientist himself only appears as a photo.
