Junia is a character in the 2024 Disney photorealistic CGI film Mufasa: The Lion King. She is a female yellow baboon who lives in the Baboons' Tree and a friend of Rafiki.

Personality[]

Junia is a loyal friend to Rafiki. She is kind-hearted and empathetic toward others.

Physical appearance[]

Junia is a small and slender baboon. She has tan-tinged brown fur and a black muzzle.

Role in the film[]

When Rafiki's mystical visions began to scare his fellow primates, they resolved to exile him from their troop. Junia, however, leaped to his defense and reminded her comrades of all the times Rafiki had helped them. Even so, they all voted to drive him away. Though Junia worried that Rafiki would not survive on his own, he assured her that he would do what he must. He then left, with Junia staring after him anxiously.

Unlike other character names in The Lion King franchise, Junia is not of Swahili origin, but Latin, and roughly translates to "youthful."
