Tangaagim

Tangaagim is a character who appears in Season 3 of The Lion Guard. He is a polar bear who lives in the tundra of the Tree of Life and is the leader of his Sleuth.

Role in the series[]

"Poa the Destroyer"[]

Tangaagim meets Beshte when he's looking for new animals to meet and talk to. He teaches him how to walk on the ice like a polar bear. However, he later gets scared of of Beshte when Pinguino tells him that Beshte is "Poa the Destroyer". Tangaagim goes to the Tree of Life with Baliyo. Rani and the Lion Guard tell the animals that Beshte isn't a threat. After hearing that Beshte saved Pinguino's life, the animals call Beshte "Poa the Life Saver" and Tangaagim asks Beshte if he could save his life someday too.

"Long Live the Queen"[]

When Makini announces Queen Janna's passing, Tangaagim and the other animals are very sad and mourn her death. At the Willows, Tangaagim and his Sleuth gather with all the other animals for Queen Janna's funeral, with everyone laying flowers on Janna's grave while the Night Pride and the Lion Guard stand to mourn. At sunset, all the animals gather at the Tree of Life for Rani's coronation. Near the end of the song, Tangaagim lifts Rani up on his head and holds her high while everyone cheers. Makini then anoints Rani's forehead and declares her the new Queen of the Tree of Life, causing everyone to chant "Long live the Queen".

"Return to the Pride Lands"[]

Tangaagim and his sleuth attend Rani and Kion's wedding and cheered for Kion as he was crowned King of the Tree of Life..

Beshte[]

Tangaagim and Beshte are good friends. When he first met him, Tangaagim teaches Beshte how to walk like a polar bear in the ice. When Pinguino tells Tangaagim that Beshte is a monstrous animal ruining the penguins' slide, Tangaagim had no idea that he was one. After Beshte saves Pinguino, Tangaagim apologizes to him by clearing out his bad reputation.

Pinguino[]

Pinguino and Tangaagim are good friends. At first, Pinguino warns Tangaagim about Beshte for rudely calling him a destructive monster known as "Poa". When Beshte saves Pinguino, he tells Tangaagim how great Beshte is.

Rani[]

Tangaagim and Rani are good friends. During her coronation as everyone sings, he lifts her up high in the air. He cheers as she becomes queen of the Tree of Life.

Kion[]

Kion and Tangaagim are good friends. Tangaagim comes to his coronation when he marries Rani and cheers for him.

Tangaagim is on good terms with the other members of the Lion Guard.

Tangaagim is on good terms with the other members of the Night Pride.

Tangaagim is the first polar bear to appear in the Lion King franchise.
- Polar bears were previously featured in the animated series Timon & Pumbaa, another animated series inspired by The Lion King in the episodes "Klondike Con" and "Ice Escapades".
