President Donald Trump’s playground taunt Sunday that “the Squad” of four new radical liberal House Democrats, all women of color, should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came,” dominated Monday morning’s headlines.

Yet those headlines smothered the deeper story.

The Democrats are today using language to describe their own leaders that is similar to the language of the 1960s radicals who denounced Democratic segregationist governors like Ross Barnett and George Wallace.

Consider what the four women have been saying.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has accused Speaker Nancy Pelosi of attacking “newly elected women of color.” Was she calling Pelosi a “racist”?

“No!” protested AOC. But it sure sounded like it.

AOC’s chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti attacked Native American Rep. Sharice Davids for her vote on a Pelosi-backed bill that sent $4.6 billion in aid to the border but lacked the restrictions on Trump policies progressives had demanded.

Chakrabarti described Davids’ vote as “showing her … enable a racist system,” adding that some Democrats “seem hell bent to do to black and brown people what the old Southern Democrats did in the ’40s.”

The House Democratic Caucus ripped Chakrabarti, “Who is this guy and why is he explicitly singling out a Native American woman of color?”

At a Netroots Nation conference this weekend, African American Rep. Ayanna Pressley declared: “We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. … We don’t need any more black faces that don’t want to be a black voice.”

This comes close to calling members of the Black Caucus “Uncle Toms.”

Monday, the president doubled down, tweeting:

“We all know that AOC and this crowd are a bunch of Communists, they hate Israel, they hate our own Country, they’re calling the guards along our Border (the Border Patrol Agents) Concentration Camp Guards, they accuse people who support Israel as doing it for the Benjamin’s”

The “Benjamins” recalls the accusation of Somali-born Ilhan Omar of Minnesota that the Israel Lobby buys the votes of members of Congress. “It’s all about the Benjamins baby.”

Rashida Tlaib of Michigan is the other congresswoman in Trump’s sights. Together, the four have achieved a prominence that almost exceeds that of Majority Leader Steny Hoyer or Majority Whip James Clyburn.

The four — AOC, Tlaib, Pressley, Omar — have no clout in the Democratic caucus. But because of the confrontations they have caused and the controversy they have created, they have a massive media following.

Paradoxically, their interests in winning cheers as the fighting arm of the Democratic Party coincide with the interests of Donald Trump. He entertains and energizes his base by answering in kind their attacks on him and by adopting incendiary rhetoric of his own. He is now assuming the old “America! Love it or Leave it!” stance in going after the four women as anti-American ingrates.

They, by calling Trump a criminal, racist and fascist for whom impeachment proceedings should have begun months ago, elate and energize the outraged left of their party.

Among the presidential candidates, some have begun to side with the four, with Bernie Sanders saying Pelosi has been “a little” too tough on them.

On “Meet the Press,” Bernie added: “You cannot ignore the young people of this country who are passionate about economic and racial and social and environmental justice. You’ve got to bring them in, not alienate them.”

ORDER IT NOW

Trump’s Sunday attack forced Pelosi to stand with her severest critics, and she re-elevated the race issue with this tweet: “When Trump tells four American Congresswomen to go back to their countries, he reaffirms his plan to ‘Make America Great Again’ has always been about making America white again.”

Do Democrats believe that refighting the racial battles of the 1960s that were thought to have been resolved is a winning hand in 2020?

Does Pelosi think that demeaning white America is going to rally white or minority Americans to Democratic banners?

The race issue had already arisen in the first debate when Sen. Kamala Harris called out front-runner Joe Biden for befriending segregationist Senate colleagues in the ’70s and ’80s, and for colluding with them to block court-ordered busing to achieve racial balance in the public schools.

Observing the clash between Trump and these women, the rank and file of the Democratic Party are being forced to take sides. Many will inevitably side with the fighters, as Democratic moderates appear timid and tepid.

Trump is driving a wedge right through the Democratic Party, between its moderate and militant wings. With his attacks over the last 48 hours, Trump has signaled whom he prefers as his opponent in 2020. It is not Biden; it is “the Squad.”

Sunday, Pelosi recited again her mantra, “Diversity is our strength; unity is our power.” It sounded less like a proclamation than a plea.

We see the diversity. Where is the unity?

Thanks to the (((1965 immigration and naturalization act))) we have to suffer uppity, ungrateful brown bipeds with surnames names like Chakrabarti.

Ayanna Pressley declared: “We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. … We don’t need any more black faces that don’t want to be a black voice.”

But white faces who want to be a white voice are denounced as white supremacists and have their lives nearly destroyed. Identity politics for me but not for thee!

The Jewish commissars who run the Democrat party better step in soon to restore calm and remind the rainbow disunion that their ire is supposed to be focused on bad whites and nobody else. They can deal with good whites like Pelosi and her ilk once the bad whites are fully subjugated.

    Trump isn’t playing the game.

When he’s attacked as a “racist” by the Jewish media, he’s supposed to abase himself, apologize and start virtue signaling.

Coming out with a genuine racist statement, like this one, spoils the whole process. 1) It links the Democrats to the radical anti-White “Squad” – where they absolutely don’t want to be electorally and 2) It emphasizes again the growing gulf between public opinion and MSM propaganda. The public agree with Trump.

  10. I wish DJT would stop playing 4-D chess long enough to actually accomplish something meaningful and good for America.

The best example of his impotence is the failure to revoke Jim Acosta’s White House pass; if the POTUS can’t find the cajones to tell the courts they have overstepped Constitutional bounds on something that is clearly an Executive prerogative, then where can he begin to restore any sense of sanity. Instead, when a garden variety federal court rules against him, he curls up in a fetal position under his desk in and mutters words to the effect of “Oh yeah! We’ll see you in a higher court!” When it is SCOTUS, he simply crawls under the desk.

He folds like a cheap house of cards on everything that is meaningful, particularly when it goes against Daughter Ivanka’s dreams and wishes, and he goes along with the stupidest things that actually hurt America.

How about Charlie Sheen as our next President? Winning! Tiger Blood! Whatever.

In the end, Nancy Pelosi and the four congressional wahmen of color can find common ground in their hatred of and opposition to white people.

They just did as Pelosi is holding a censure vote on Trump’s “racist” tweets. So the skilled politician Pelosi just found a way to unite her party against Trump, who stupidly showered Pelosi with compliments recently and took her side in the Democrat diversity fracas when he should have ruthlessly mocked both Pelosi and “the squad”.

Trump’s compliments were utterly meaningless to a black widow like Pelosi and she nevertheless still seeks to ruin his presidency but he seems much too dense to understand this.

  13. AOC and her faithful Indian companion are Franchising their “Primary a moderate Democrat formula”. After the next election their squad may be a platoon. Maybe the Party should not have purged the likes of Nader and Kucinich.

Trump’s re-election should be a cake walk. But the economic reset has begun and by election day the U.S. economy could be stone cold dead.

Interesting times. Put aside some rice and beans. And keep your powder dry.

  14. Svevlad says:

There’s 3 ways this can move to:

    1. Polarization reaches ever more severe levels. White Democrats start fleeing the party. This is a nasty option because it can cause mass conflict.
    2. The Democratic party splits, perhaps setting the seeds of a multiparty system. Neocons from the Republican side might split off too later on, or maybe join this splinter Democrat “moderate” party because deep down they’re all neoliberal trash.
    3. Business as usual, but this probably just leads to point 1 but later, unless something extreme occurs.

  15. Rogue says:

    @The Alarmist

Well, he’s the chief Benjamin. And they sure do seem to like him – or at least pretend to.

However, I think they probably like the other Benjamins even more …

  17. The most effective rejoinder to the Trump tweet about the four House Democrats would have been to point out that there is no need for them to return to “their” countries. The United States is already their country by virtue of demographic trends that are dispossessing and displacing the European-origin people in the United States, and will result in mere plurality status in about 25 years (probably sooner given the situation on the Mexican border and the likely election of a democratic president next year). Trump has done almost nothing in the 2 1/2 years he’s been in office to even slow that trend.

There are many other Trump failures that could be added to your comment on Jim Acosta. I’ll just name three, but there are surely many others.

    1) A year or so ago Trump made a big fanfare out of sending active duty troops to the border to stem the border crisis. As the crisis continued unabated, why didn’t they stay there? Was it because they were needed in the Middle East to defend his favorite shitty little country?

    2) Shortly before last year’s election, Trump said he was considering signing an Executive Order banning Birthright Citizenship. There hasn’t been one word out of the White House about it since.
Was he ever serious in the first place?

    3) Blaming a lack of time, Trump has given up on trying to get the ‘citizenship’ question added to next year’s census. I’ve read that this is something that is a prerogative of the Executive Branch that shouldn’t have gone to SCOTUS in the first place. Why did he and his DOJ not act sooner? Saying it is now too late is like saying the dog ate your homework and hoping that the teacher will just say, that’s OK you tried, I’ll give you an A anyway.

Any fool can take to Twitter and insult losers, but a real President would tell rogue lower court judges that their orders are ultra vires, would already have the coup conspirators cooling their heels in the klink awaiting trial, would be cutting ribbons on beach resorts in North Korea, and would be shipping “refugees” from Europe back to Syria with our new best friends, Assad and the Mullahs in Tehran, helping keep the Israelis and Saudis in their bottles.

  36. Trump and the establishment Dems and GOP are just upset that these girls actually have the balls to call out AIPAC and Israel, Ilhan refused to sign the loyalty oath to Israel that Cynthia McKinney also refused to sign. Terrible!

Donald Trump’s playground taunt Sunday that “the Squad” of four new radical liberal House Democrats, all women of color, should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came,” dominated Monday morning’s headlines.

They’re from America, so Trump is somewhat right, this is the most corrupt, broken, and criminal place in the civilized world. Washington DC and Wall St being the root cause. Its funny that Trump keeps trying to link Ilhan to Al Queda when it the Trump admin/CIA that is still supplying Al Queda and ISIS with weapons and funding via Saudi Arabia and Israel, still protecting them in Syria.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has accused Speaker Nancy Pelosi of attacking “newly elected women of color.” Was she calling Pelosi a “racist”?

Pelosi is hated by the real left in this country, as is most of the establishment, she/they may as well join the GOP, she’s a pro-war, pro-Wall St imperialist. Well known since her refusal to impeach Bush Jr over the Iraq war lies, war crimes, violations of the Constitution, and obstructing a real investigation into 9/11.

At a Netroots Nation conference this weekend, African American Rep. Ayanna Pressley declared: “We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. … We don’t need any more black faces that don’t want to be a black voice.

I agree, the blacks in congress have abandoned their own communities, choosing to side with aparthied Israel, give Israel billions of dollars so their citizens can enjoy universal health care, subsidized college education, but they let their own communities rot. Most all are pro-war, pro-imperialism, vote for massive military budgets that will be used against black and brown folk all across the world.

“We all know that AOC and this crowd are a bunch of Communists, they hate Israel, they hate our own Country, they’re calling the guards along our Border (the Border Patrol Agents) Concentration Camp Guards, they accuse people who support Israel as doing it for the Benjamin’s”

All about the Benjamin’s! Like I said, this is what the establishment is REALLY upset about. Sorry, they’re not communists, or even socialists, if they were they would be organizing workers strikes, working to unite the working class, calling for revolution of the working class. They’re somewhat better than the establishment, but they’re not revolutionaries. If Trump were serious about ilegal immigration, he would be fining businesses that hire illegals, not coddling them, and he’s likely not going to fine himself anytime soon.

Recent Trump quotes on immigration for the brain dead right wing Fox viewers that think Trump or the GOP are against “open borders”

“I want people to come into this country in the largest numbers ever.”

“We need people in our country because our unemployment numbers are so low and we have massive numbers of companies coming back into our country — car companies, we have seven car companies coming back in right now and there’s going to be a lot more — we’ve done really well with this, and we need people.”

“I need people coming in because we need people to run the factories and plants and companies that are moving back in. We need people.”

Rashida Tlaib of Michigan is the other congresswoman in Trump’s sights.

Again, all about Trump’s BFF Netanyahu

He entertains and energizes his base by answering in kind their attacks on him and by adopting incendiary rhetoric of his own. He is now assuming the old “America! Love it or Leave it!” stance in going after the four women as anti-American ingrates.

This is the same rhetoric they used against Vietnam war dissidents. As well as Iraq. Trump being a sock puppet for the war machine here. Ilhan is far more American that Israeli sock puppet Trump for refusing to sign that loyalty oath to a hostile foreign nation. Trump happily jumped right into bed with the Saudi’s who if you believe the official story, attacked America on 9/11.

Does Pelosi think that demeaning white America is going to rally white or minority Americans to Democratic banners?

Pelosi, as well as all the establishment Dems and GOP are “demeaning” toward ALL middle class and poor Americans every single day. Nothing new here Pat. Unless you belong to the 1%, you get shit on every single day. Both of these parties, the uniparty are obsolete to Americans, its nice to see these girls actually doing something different, its not nearly enough though. More rich capitalists in congress than ever before in our history, more millionaires in congress than at anytime in our history, doing the bidding of rich capitalists all day every day Pat. No surprise most of the country is in the poor house.

    Mary LS,
I am a harsh critic of President Trump on many issues, but, on this issue, you are 100% right. When the ship’s captain’s orders are not followed implicitly, the guilty party are mutineers, and the ship may sink. If the pilots orders are not followed to a tee, the plane will go down. They don’t always have time to follow-up on their commands, nor should they have to.

The tragedy of Mr. Trump is that he has been unable to find enough qualified advisors he can trust. Indeed, the deep state has been out to get him from Day One. Those who make fact-free claims that he was ‘selected’ not ‘elected’ are guilty of not thinking with the brains that god gave them.

On some days, I look at Trump as the Man of Steel, standing before his uncompleted Wall, like Jack Nicholson’s character in “A Few Good Men,” and yelling STOP, you NEED me at that Wall. Love him or hate him, there will never be another.

“The tragedy of Mr. Trump is that he has been unable to find enough qualified advisors he can trust.”

Couple that with another tragedy: Trump doesn’t even try to find any advisors he can trust. As an outsider to DC, he doesn’t know the players and can’t be bothered to learn anything about anyone his staff pushes for nomination into important positions. That’s how he made such horrible choices in the first round of appointments.

Nobody with even a casual knowledge of who’s who in DC would have appointed Granny Sessions as AG, and Mike Pompeo for Sec’ State after Tillerson pissed him off? That was a case of negligence bordering on criminal, if we’re to give him the benefit of the doubt. I can’t think of a single appointee of his who isn’t a sworn enemy of everything Trump claimed as a goal.

Perhaps Trump was afraid that TDS was going into remission and he needed to stoke it a bit: http://www.dcdave.com/poet15/190715.html Or perhaps the whole dust-up is just a way to divert attention from Jeffrey Epstein.

Or perhaps the whole dust-up is just a way to divert attention from Jeffrey Epstein.

Doesn’t seem to be working since today the headlines are all about a 1992 party where Trump hosted Epstein.

But really, what is there to report on Epstein about right now? He has been arrested and had his first hearing and a bail hearing. That is it. Do you want breathless reports about his life in protective custody?

    > When the ship’s captain’s orders are not followed implicitly, the guilty party are mutineers, and the ship may sink. If the pilots orders are not followed to a tee, the plane will go down. They don’t always have time to follow-up on their commands, nor should they have to.

Maybe a captain should then take some time away from the steering wheel that does not steer anyway, and invest it into cutting off some heads? So other mutineers would consider implementing his next orders for a while.

    > The tragedy of Mr. Trump is that he has been unable to find enough qualified advisors he can trust

Maybe he can find a qualified bouncer or even hitmen for starters?
What would those missed advisors do when all their wise advices would be ignored by “mutineers” ?

Does Trump know about tzar John IV the Fearsome (misnamed Terrible by UK popaganda) ?
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oprichnina

Probably not. But he throws C-word easily, so he should at least know about Stalin and his purges?

Afterall who in his sane mind would enlist as an adviser to Trump TODAY ?
    WHY ?
To make damn lot of enemies among 1% ? And to get n-o-t-h-i-n-g achieved in the exchange?
Why, really? Why would anyone today want to become Trump’s adviser for anything except for profiteering some way?

Bernie was cunning and disingenuous when he tried to shift or dilute his position on The Squad’s principal insanities by connecting The Squad with “young people.” This reminded me of how, when Obama would be asked about hunters, he would often dilute and obfuscate by praising “hunting and fishing.” It’s too bad CNN eliminated the “show of hands” from the next debate.

I think Trump’s trying to break up Jewish support for the Left.

Well, I support Israel becoming a partisan issue. This is one of the reasons I voted for Trump over Clinton.

The new game seems to be the declaration of undying support for Israel , while at the same time whacking the US multicultural left. The next move could be Trump highlighting the problem of Black criminality, and telling them to sort themselves out.

What’s he got to lose? His base would love it (along with many undecided voters) and he’s going to get called a racist anyway, whatever he does.

    Fighting back? Hardly.

I just read a 20 column inch Associated Press article about this hullabaloo published in our local newspaper. The word “Israel” doesn’t even appear — that would expose the 99.4% pure loyalty of the Washington establishment. The next Most Important Election Ever is less than 16 months away, and they have to stoke the latest episode of the divide & conquer, RedBlue puppet show. So out comes the airbrush … and the enstupidated can be told this is sexism, racism, xenophobia, with all Dems on one side, Reps on the other.

When will Americans stop lining up every four years for another bowl of this swill?

Churchill justified or explained to himself his dalliance with Zionism exactly same way . Soviet international Jewry vs Western civilization !!!

West suffered total destruction . Soviet was corrupted from within . Zionism destroyed both .

“Those who bless thee, are those first to be destroyed easy “

Like Churchill, he is dependent on Jew , like him he is racist , vainglorious, , a white – Christian- western votary , hates non white ( like Churchill he hates Orientals also ) and like Churchill , he thinks his route to preservation of west is assured of a perfect success .

Trump is a fool or lying when he says that manufacturers returning to the USA create a need for millions more immigrants.

As Andrew Yang has pointed out, corporations have already automated away millions of manufacturing and assembly jobs in the USA in the past decade or two, and they have credible, progressing plans to throw millions more Americans out of work for replacement by increasingly safe, dexterous, and productive robots and AI.

Even with no further immigration of lower-skilled less-educated people into the USA at all, we will already have TENS of millions of long-term unemployed and increasingly unemployABLE people.

By importing immigrants for whom we can confidently expect no full-time employment — let alone reasonably well-paid employment with benefits — we are importing a ready-made underclass. Add the substantial racial, cultural, and linguistic differences between most of the immigrants and most older-stock Americans, and there’s a recipe for widespread ill will and eventually violence.

If white voice is for people of color is to leave America for their ancestral homeland they know nothing of,then it is supremacist. That is the MAIN issue

  64. The most important thing is good manners.
Better to lose with good manners than to win with declasse behavior. After all, human values matter.
Look at me, I lost very graciously. And that makes me feel good. Feelings are human values. And my feelings are very important. So no way I would fight Democrats and the Left. That would not be kind. The media would not like that, and they would criticize me unjustly. Possible even slander, libel.
    Oh, wait . . .
