High blood pressure is … weird. I’m one of those low-carb diet kooks, except that my particular kooky diet seems to work. It seems to result in weight loss, healthier “numbers” from A1C to blood pressure, but there’s also a number of related “gurus” (because in the US, diet and many scientific things can’t be talked about objectively, but must be discussed using words like “belief”, “gurus” etc.) who say that blood pressure is not the Holy Grail, and a lot of the push to get certain numbers is, like almost everything in the US, a sales tactic to get people onto (as is always the case even if it’s dirt-cheap to make) expensive medicine in the US.

I have a “suburbian” family as close friends so I get to see the internals of suburbian life, and a lot of it revolves around medicines. They start and end their day with handfuls of pills, and the husband is particularly successful as he’s graduated from relative health to oral diabetes medicine to multiple injections of (expensive) insulin a day.

The standard American diet is exactly what you’d want to feed Wagyu cattle on, fatten ’em up with plenty of marbling and slaughter ’em young to harvest that lovely marbled meat. So Americans are started from young childhood on a breakfast of carbs and sugar to lots of white bread and “healthy grains” (it means they’re dyed brown) and if they’re doing it right they’re “on the (insulin) needle” by their 60s.

I have no doubt Trump has one or more pet doctors who follow him around, like Hitler’s Dr. Morell, dosing him up on all kinds of stuff and the latest cutting edge stuff too. But he doesn’t look like a high blood pressure case. I’ve never seen him with a “florid” (red) complexion, even when he’s worked up like at a rally. In anything, the orange spray tan seems to be intended to conceal what would otherwise be an unhealthy pallor.

Considering how long Dick Chaney hung on (is it still alive, in Texas somewhere, venturing out at night to feed on young children?) modern medicine can keep one of these walking corpses going for a long time. Trump may even be getting human growth hormone. It was taken off of the market because AIDS got into the supply, but in his case he’d get it harvested from thoroughly vetted victims, freshly harvested from the immigrant camps perhaps. (More probably from gulags in N. Korea or some such place.)

Human growth hormone would explain the portly figure, as it makes everything grow, including internal organs. This is why a lot of modern bodybuilders are described as “looking like they swallowed a turtle” their 6-pack abs bulging out due to the larger organs underneath. Trump’s too old to develop the characteristic facial features, like a gap between the front teeth, but it would also explain the thick fingers.

The trouble is, if they couldn’t keep Steve Jobs going, they probably can’t keep Trump going, or coherent, forever.

If Trump wins in 2020, then the fight will be on. In 2016, a large amount of people were aware of the swamp, but a lot still weren’t. Today, with what has been going on with Russiagate, Ukrainegate, even people who weren’t paying attention before are now catching a glimpse of the swamp in action. It is in their faces.

S. government has the ability to investigate corrupt behavior of a U.S. Vice President in a foreign country, Joe Biden’s corrupt behavior. The only way to shine light on the Bidens’ (plural) activities in Ukraine was to incentivize a Ukrainian investigation. That this was not really self-serving on Trump’s part is shown by the impeachment itself. If the Democrats believed that public outrage would erupt against Joe Biden for his Ukrainian activities, they never would have highlighted those activities in an impeachment.

So the fact of impeachment itself shows that Trump’s actions were not self-serving. Logically the impeachment proves the alleged motive to be false.

I think that is a fair question. I also think that you have touched on an issue of the current executives motives and realistic thinking on “maximum pressure”. If the Iranians come to understand that the current executive has no sincere intent of attacking even after being provoked, if that what it was, then the issue of maximum pressure is moot. It will have no force.

However, if in fact China is making a move to route its trade through the oil rich region (and granted some day the oil will run out) than for the west that poses a serious consequences of realignment.

An y one player may seem inconsequential, but upon assessing the regional and global strategic implications — the US has made a huge miscalculation and attempting to ameliorate that may very well lead to war. That’s the real world. And one that was not created by my opposition to topplling Iraq or getting bogged down in Afghanistan chasing twenty some suspected actors in 9;11. Sorry, i opted for something far more prudent and incisive maintaining the stability of both countries as much as possible.

Unlike many of you, apparently, think the chess board in the region is merely a chess board. And i am not inclined to dump the integrity of the nation merely because of the risks, that should not have been taken.

I am not unwilling to acknowledge US error. However, I am unwilling to cave into fear because the other fellow who attacked me, my fight back. i would send a personal emissary asking Iran their intentions and making it clear, that should another missile leave their airspace landing on any US installation — there will be a response – maximum pressure or not. Asking me an interrogative about a scenario I did not create is a tad imbalanced. But what i would not do is engage in provacative assassination/murders without a willingness to go the next step.

(I don’t buy the case against the last action because I am unaware of any evidence that he was a threat to the US. That notwithstanding, those in Iraq proper posing a clear and present danger will be get a response. Peaceful protests or protests that do not threaten US personnel or installations — will not be interfered with by the US.

It does not matter that much who gets elected anymore. Too many parasites have their hooks deeply embedded in the tax trough. Anyone who threatens it gets stomped. You can’t get a group of committed people to reform the system from within due to the corrupt system, thanks Citizen United, that puts them their. A campaign finance amendment would transfer power from the oligarchs back to people. A monetary amendment would easily change the issue of money. But no one can get in their to do it because the system has 2 gatekeepers: Aipac and Wall ST.
Barring 10 million men with ar-15’s showing up in DC, I don’t see this system changing until America ceases to be a great power. 20 years or more. Unless, of course, WuChu is just the start of a whole new level of f@ckery with a corresponding downward spiral. In that case, all bets are off.

be kind to yourself. i was asked what I would do. I was courteous enough to consider the question and I further provided the courtesy of answering the same. Now generally, upon granting one’s request, it is not uncommon to gear a “thank you” even if disengenuous and sarcastic.

Well, certainly and good golly miss molley for sure, I don’t know everything. But I suspect that I know a little something. Enough to know that Iran is not merely a benign actor seeking the good of all or at least not the good of all who get in her way of her Islamic and regional ambitions. Not a cause for war by any means, influence is what most states engage to their advantage. I think your chrystal ball needs some work and yours is not the only one. There are no small amount of individuals here who think they know others by these brief exchanges.

However, open as I am to hearing your side of the story about what has taken place between the US and Iran – feel free to enlighten me. I am not sure that it will sway me to turn my back on the US, but you are certainly invited to make your case, that I should.
