Reflection short stories Practice makes perfect I always use this quote in my life.

By practicing of something I can face the problem that I cant predict it before. From that way I can know what I should do to solve the problem. Sometimes what I have learned from the theory was cant be effective in our situation, because of the situation will be different. As I joined Program Pensiswazahan Guru , I relearn the Stories for young learners which it will help me in my career as an English teacher. As a teacher , I also will give agenda about what will do today before I deliver the materials so students can understand the goal for todays lesson. In a climate where children spend more and more time in front of televisions , computers and video games ,storytellings educational impact is augmented as never before. Rather than passively receiving images , children must actively engage in making images themselves. Storytelling is a kind of reading which requires children to be active participants in the construction of meaning. Children get fully involved while listening to a story and they also feel joy and satisfaction. As language teachers, I am always tempted to regard the teaching of reading and listening only as a variety of comprehension activity but in doing so I sometimes discourage children from becoming "good" readers of English. Using storytelling in class, children develop a constructive and creative comprehension . The purpose that Im choosing a storytelling in my teaching because when children listen to a story, in terms of comprehension response, they get involved in different types of mental processes. First, they create a mental picture of what they are listening to. Then, they can imagine what is going to happen next. Children also identify themselves with the characters and situations in the story relating them to their own experiences. Last but not least, children apply their own values to those found in the story. Therefore, each child's response will be unique because it will demonstrate individual interpretation, it will relate to the whole story and it can be also discussed and shared with others in the class. When I make the selection, I think on the age level and proficiency level of my students. I may use a well-known fairy tale, a scary story or any suitable reader I find in my school-library.

The story that I chose for our students in the primary ESL classroom The Red Riding hood. All around the world children love listening to and reading fairy tales in their mother tongue. Whatever the reason, fairy tales provide both children and teachers with a familiar starting point from which to explore stories in a second language. This kit contains a variety of activities, from text and tasks to illustrations, flashcards and presentations, for me to use in my classroom for storytelling activities, There are a few strengtsh that I found in completing this task : storytelling session in teaching and learning session. Storytelling is especially useful in language teaching and learning. Children engaged in the activity of storytelling learn about history and culture, they develop emotionally and gain a better sense of self-esteem. They are very fond of listening to fairytales and stories, but in ESL teaching and learning, it is very important to decide on the right story to tell. ESL storytelling includes visualization (looking at images) and body gestures. As a teaching method, telling a story doesn't require accuracy, it aims to make a symbolic point and to make it easier for children to start producing a foreign language. Pictures are very important in storytelling; first, the teacher reads the story aloud and simultaneously shows the pictures to children so that they could memorize better the sequence of events and to stimulate comprehension. Storytelling improves language skills such as vocabulary, prediction, sequencing, comprehension, story structure and recall. Pictures are of key importance once children learn their part in storytelling: some parts are for the teacher to ''tell'' and some parts are for the children to ''tell''.They don't read the story, they tell the story!

The difference between reading aloud and ESL storytelling is that the act of storytelling is always active and inventive. The teacher must concentrate on the intonation because storytelling is not just reading aloud; one must be a little bit of an actor and introduce all sorts of emotions present in the story, occasionally making sounds that reveal fear, happiness, sadness and similar.

There were some weaknesses in completing this task.During storytelling session , a few pupils are not listen attentively to the story because prefer to see the video of the story rather than listening..To overcome this problem , I need to prepare some props thats attractive which can make all the students able to listen to the story attentively

I am fully convinced that storytelling from teacher to student or from student to student carries many benefits. Students can lose themselves in the characters, plots and situations, they lower their anxiety levels and at the same time, they increase their selfconfidence and esteem. As they progress, the students can improve their abilities to comprehend and later produce the target language.

Young learners are like a cube of sponge, where they absorb everything when a teacher teaches themselves. Incoherent with that songs and poetry can be very essential in teaching and learning a language as children loves to move around, clap their hands and even induce themselves in the world of imaginations. Therefore, teachers should use language art in their lessons to make it interesting and help plus encourage young learners to use the English language as fully as possible so that they would be proficient in the language not only when they are young but for the future benefits also

Reflection classroom management. Managing a good classroom and discipline, there are some aspects that need to be emphasized and focuses to promote good learning environment which are important throughout the learning process. The teachers roles, the students roles and the classroom management itself are some of the aspects that teacher should practice in order to make his or her lesson success. Teacher should practice a good classroom management to achieve a conducive learning environment for teaching and learning activities to take place. The ultimate goal of classroom management should not be on simple obedience, but on having students behave appropriately because they know its right thing to do and because they can understand how their actions affect other people(Hardin, 2008, p. 142 ). Based on the quote above, it can be seen clearly that a good classroom management will not only maintain the classroom environment for teaching and learning to occur but also effects the students behaviours as an individual in the teaching and learning process. During the observation, the first thing I found that he teacher played good roles in her teacher and learning session. The teacher know that she play a major role in creating a good classroom management. Teacher was well-prepared and well-versed on the topics taught. Teacher planned her lesson with appropriate examples, suitable activities for her pupils and also well-organized group work done by her pupils. This is because, one of the teachers roles is to help the learner to gain literacy. Teacher teaches the learners by facilitating the learners learning. For me, it is importa nt for teachers to be well-prepared so that they can deliver their lesson and achieve the lesson objectives. William Arthur Ward once said that The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. This clearly shows that teachers play a huge role in teaching the learners. Teacher also never forget to praise her pupils who perform and behave well in the activities. Teacher knows how to motivate her pupils to involve in the discussion. As quoted from HaimGinott, Praise should deal, not with the childs personality attributes, but with his or her efforts and achievements. The praise are given based on the pupils performances in the classroom by either give motivational words such as well done, good job or by giving small rewards such as stars. For the pupils roles, I have seen that pupils really co-operated with their teacher. This good behaviour influenced the teachers lesson. For me , in managing a classroom for teaching and learning process, it is not merely the teachers roles but also the learners roles

Besides, the lighting of the classroom also good. The ventilation and the basic facilities in the classroom also in good condition and well-manage. For me, it is important to have a good classroom physical setting to promote a sense of belonging towards the learners by fulfilling all the learners needs. Other basic physical aspects of the classroom are the classroom rules and routines as well as the emergency plan of pupils at the beginning of the year and I saw that it was pasted on the notice board in front of the classroom. Hence, it promotes a democratic teaching environment as well as highlights the expectations for the class. Another thing, I can see that pupils are sitting in a group and mixed with difference races. The classroom also decorated with full of motivational teaching aids which can instill good moral values for the pupils. In order to build a good classroom management, it is not rely on the teacher only but this will involve all parties, teacher, pupils and school management. Work as a whole, hand in hand to achieve the objectives of the lesson. As for teachers, a good lesson not only focuses on the content of the teaching but also on how they manage the classroom throughout the lesson. According to William Glasser once said that, when you study great teachersyou will learn much more from their caring and hard work than from their style.
