Question 1:

Analyse one of 21st century skills that you can apply in teaching English or your
future

job. Write at least about 250 words to describe it.

Creativity

As an English teacher, creativity is a vital 21st-century skill that can greatly

enhance the teaching and learning experience English. English – considered a quite
interesting subject for students, but if you don't know how to communicate creatively,
learning English becomes extremely boring. Therefore, as an English teacher, it is
very important to transfer knowledge and practice English skills for students, which
helps students really immerse themselves in creative activities and receive knowledge
in the best way.

So how do we apply creative skills to teaching English? Teachers have the role
of organizing activities, helping students absorb knowledge and practice skills in a
positive way. I will recreate practical exercises for students, instead of students only
doing homework in textbooks, we can turn those exercises into activities such as role-
playing, game-based learning,.. With the help of technology, I will encourage students
to do multimedia projects: digital storytelling, podcasts,..; In this way, it will
encourage students to use technology as well as show students' abilities and strengths.
This will encourage students to explore topics creatively, they will not only be able to
practice their English skills in class but also at home, anywhere with people and
friends.
By integrating creativity into English teaching, educators can create a dynamic
and stimulating learning environment to students. We need to be flexible and creative
in classroom activities, we will be the pioneers in leading students to discover and
nurture their love of learning English and expressing themselves. The benefits of using
creativity in English language teaching will change the traditional concept of teaching.
Therefore, creativity allows students to think outside the box and come up with unique
solutions to problems, expresses their ideas in a creative way, and allows students to
stand out from the crowd and be more successful.

Question 2:

What did you do to solve a disagreement in your group or club? Give an example.

Write at least about 350 words to describe it.

In a classroom, conflicts and disagreements between students are inevitable,
which can help students grow. If teachers have the skills to handle disagreements
quickly and effectively, it will create trust and receive appreciation from colleagues,
students and parents. With my experience, I will share some lazy advice that I think is
useful for teachers when encountering similar situations.

When there is a conflict in the classroom, the teacher reacts to run away or
ignore the problem altogether – flight only makes the problem worse, instead we need
the necessary and immediate action to deal with the problem. First, consider the
context and mood of the students, because if both students and teachers are not
emotionally stable, the problem is very likely to become serious, we need to consider
the time to discuss the problem again. We need to pay attention to enough time for
both of us to calm down and sit down together.

Second, listening to the story from both sides, teachers need to allow the parties
to share their views and listen to them present the incident to find a satisfactory
solution. Teachers should meet with each member individually to understand their
behavior and views on the matter, listen carefully to find the crux of the problem, and
then let both parties sit together. To ensure that those involved in the conflict feel
heard and understood, we need to encourage them to communicate and respect them.

Finally, looking for creative solutions, we can propose students to come up

with solutions on their own. From there, teachers will have thoughts that break free
from limitations to find the best solution to that problem. Communicate, behave
peacefully, gently, respect people, and teach your students how to communicate and
behave with people as you did. With the win-win principle, you can resolve conflicts
at school, not only with students but also with colleagues or anyone else.

An example that I myself encountered when I became an English teacher, was

the disagreement from 2 good students but strong personalities of the class. In class,
these two students together gave a conflicting view on a problem "The Internet – is it
eating away at students' thinking?". The two students made their own arguments and I
learned that these two students were not friendly with each other, the culmination of
which occurred was that the two of them began to have incorrect words and their
psychological state became negative. At this time, as a teacher, when I noticed that the
situation was no longer positive, I quickly offered mediation, I praised the students'
positivity when they were ready to express their personal views, but I also commented
on their behavior in the classroom. At the end of class, I met with the two of them
privately to listen to their views, and noticed that the two of them had different views
in many subjects but there was still no effective intervention from the teacher. After
listening to both students, I made comments about the strengths and weaknesses of
both of them with a respectful attitude towards the students, and then suggested that
they could work together to support each other more because I noticed that both of
them were able to compensate for each other to develop further. After that, I suggested
that the two of them form a team to participate in a technology competition guided
and observed by me to help them improve their relationship and as a result, they are a
close pair of friends together to support each other in their studies. To sum up, I also
received a valuable lesson on how to resolve disagreements in relationships at school.

Question 3:

You are applying for the position of teacher at a international school or a staff at a

tourism company. What is your experience and achievement section of your resume to

demonstrate your adaptability and flexibility?

Write at least about 500 words to describe it.

An international school is truly a dynamic and creative environment that places

optimal development and intrinsic competence of students, where teachers are
provided with an ideal working environment, support benefits and attractive salaries.
For a young teacher, choosing an international environment is very suitable for future
professional and professional development. And I chose Wellspring international
bilingual school, with a long history of development and bilingual programs to help
me promote my English ability and English teaching ability.
With the experience of being an intern teacher at a private school, I have a good
overview of how an international school works and operates. In my opinion, both
private and international students have very unique characteristics such as: strong
personality, independence, ability to analyze and think sharply, very strong creativity,
sometimes they have opposition to teachers. Therefore, in these environments,
teachers need to behave gently but not be too weak and sentimental, which will make
students disrespect teachers.

Teachers' personalities and ways of interacting with students must also change
to adapt to a student-centered environment, promote creativity and create
opportunities for students to develop themselves. At the same time, teachers working
in an international environment need to be persistent, soft, and flexible in how to
interact with colleagues, students and parents.
For example, during the internship, I was exposed to 2 special students of the
school and observed how the homeroom teacher interacted with them, how the teacher
spent time talking to them. According to the teachers' assessment, these two friends
are always very good at studying, smart, but their personalities are free, they are
opposed to teachers, and sometimes have an overly provocative attitude, which makes
them always underestimated in terms of consciousness. Homeroom teachers combine
many measures such as rewarding, talking, reminding, and even working with parents,
and I have seen their behavior change dramatically. It was the most valuable lesson for
me during that time and I had enough flexibility in dealing with students.

International schools often have their own unique sets of textbooks and various
bilingual education programs. Becoming a teacher at such a school means designing
flexible teaching programs and learning activities tailored to the goals of each
curriculum. With training in blended teaching methods, such as flipped classrooms
and teaching through Hip Hop, adapting to customized educational programs becomes
more manageable.

Alongside an internationally standardized education program using English as

the main language, teachers need to implement distinctive teaching techniques and
adjust lessons to suit different learning styles and abilities, enhancing student
performance and engagement. Working with students at an international school
involves creating suitable English learning plans, addressing specific language
challenges and goals, and guiding students towards their learning objectives after
graduation.

Furthermore, the curriculum is also adjusted to meet the cultural and

multilingual needs of students from many countries, enhancing inclusivity and
cohesion in line with students' study abroad goals after graduation. When interacting
with students at international schools, most of them have identified their post-
graduation goals early, influenced by their parents or their own choices. Therefore,
teaching that incorporates global perspectives and cultural sensitivity enriches
students' understanding of diverse worldviews.

When teachers possess the necessary knowledge and skills, they act as bridges,
helping students confidently pursue their future goals. Teachers serve as role models,
and the educational objectives of international schools aim to guide students towards
becoming global citizens. Thus, the selection of teachers who meet the criteria and
objectives of each school is crucial.

In conclusion, becoming a teacher at an international school means facing

many demands and pressures. However, it is a dynamic environment suitable for
developing skills as a foreign language educator. The experiences I gained as an intern
were truly invaluable, giving me a broader perspective on different cultural
environments, enabling me to implement flexible teaching methods, and effectively
interacting with my diverse student community.
