Demons ( () (ぞく) Mazoku?) are one of the different species and natural enemies that inhabits Sorcerion, and one of the 13 natural enemies featured in Versus. Many of them belong to the Great Demon King Army.

Appearance[]

Demons tend to vary by appearance, although they all possess animal-like features. There are several demons that appear identical to animals such as moles, worms, vultures, etc., whereas others take on more humanoid appearances. They can also vary by size and features too, as some demons appear with a skeletal appearance.

Physical traits of demons might also be specific to those of different tribes. Several of the demons shown residing in Jachi's area have aquatic-life features, with some possessing traits such as fins or gills. Additionally, Kiva asked the Advanced Robot to which tribe it belonged to as he couldn't make out its appearance, making it that specific traits can denote the type of demons within the world.

Biology[]

As mentioned earlier, demons can vary by appearance ranging from physical traits, heights, sizes, etc. Some demons are shown to be able to live underground whereas others are capable of flight additionally. Those with aquatic features might also have potential of residing underwater with no issues of needing oxygen, although this has yet to be shown.

Although not exhibited within low-ranking demons, higher-ranking demons are shown to have proficiency in regenerative abilities, being able to regrow limbs in mere seconds. As shown by Kiva, demons are also capable of burgeoning certain parts of their body to enhance their strength. This can apply to specific stuff such as their hands, or throughout their whole body for a more ferocious appearance. Higher-ranking demons are also capable of undergoing a transformation known as Burst, where their bodies significantly increase in size, granting them a higher level of physical prowess.

Demons can also vary by intelligence as well. Low-ranking demons lack any particular sense of thought, described as "mindless creatures". However, higher-ranked demons have shown a great sense of perception and brilliance. This is further implied by Jachi and Kiva, as they are able to prioritize their targets and possess knowledge of humanity's achievements and what could threaten them subsequently.

Additionally, demons are capable of possessing magic like the humans in the world. Demons appear to have different capabilities in terms of how much magic they can store within themselves, with Jachi possessing great amounts.

From centuries worth of research, it was deduced that the Hero's Blade was the only type of weapon that could injure a Demon Lord, although the full fruitions of this have yet to be shown.

Overall Strength[]

The strength of the demon appears to vary based on hierarchy. Low-ranking demons can be handled quite easily by humans through either magic spells or weapons of different worlds.

Ranked higher than the lower-level demons are the Combat Executives. These demons are far more powerful than the foot-soldier demons, as shown when Kiva could casually deflect the beam bullets from the Anti-Machine Combat Force and even caught a bullet fired from their armor-piercing rifle. Kiva could fight with and eventually defeat an Advanced Robot from the Robot army, though he sustained heavy injuries in the process. The combat executives can fight on-par with heroes on the level of Hallow, though when Hallow is fully healed and focused on the battle, Kiva was overpowered. What's more, the combat executives are incapable of fighting against a Madalan, as even a team of four combat executives battling Galua proved incapable of damaging the alien, requiring a constant supply of mana from the humans to remain in the battle.

Demons that stand above the combat executives are the Demon Lords. Throughout generations of human history, there hasn't been any mention of a human defeating any 47 Demon Lords, with even the 47 Heroes losing out against to them as the strongest humans. Most fights of humans against demons are shown to have them either killed, captured for experiments, having their mind broken, or even becoming a demon themselves through unknown circumstances. As exhibited by Jachi, he can blow away the highest class supreme spells with just his mere breath, comparing it to that of a candle flame.[1] Flicking a earwax is also dangerous enough to kill a human upon contact. The sheer density of Jachi's magic is also enough to kill humans upon contact, with lasting even more than 10 seconds being considered impressive at fair distances.[2] Jachi's skin is durable enough for even the Hero's Blade to break upon contact, although if this is due to Hallow's courage being lacking is currently unknown. Unlike the combat executives, a Demon Lord is capable of matching a Madalan. Jachi forced Uki to transform into its Space Plate: Shinra, though once Jachi removed his mana-draining armor and stopped holding back, he completely overpowered the Madalan with seemingly little effort.[3]

History[]

Background[]

Before the events of the series, humankind have been subjected for generations of suffering against demons, nearly conquering all of the world. The Great Demon King rules over the territory that the demons have conquered, designating areas around the world to the 47 Demon Lords.[4] The rampant slaughter of humans by the demons have been to the point where humanity's survival is at extreme lows.
