Humans ( (じん) (るい) Jinrui?) are one of the different species featured in Versus. They are the overall protagonists in the series, facing oppression and close extinction against their natural enemies.

Overview[]

Every human from their respective world take on a humanoid appearance, albeit they can have distinct features depending on the world they originate (eg. the tall stature of those from the Titan's Crown in comparison to the Gaia's Wrath). Additionally, every human have their own respective history, having their own respective culture, attire, advancements, etc. However, the one thing that they all share in common is being near extinction as a result of their natural enemies. This lead to their effort of seeking help from other worlds as a means of overcoming their predator, leading to the start of the series.

Many of the surviving human leadership of each world are also for the most part lead by ordinary people. This is due to each world lacking surviving authority figures causing the few survivors having a normal person as their representative of each of their respective world with some exceptions like Glasp. Previously, the vast majority of humanity banded together in the final holdout of Sorcerion and decided to work together to survive. After the fall of the fortress, however, they were forced to flee to the Land of the Lawless to seek a new base for themselves.

History[]

Humans' history varies on their own world, but in every world seen so far, mankind has been oppressed by their respective natural enemies to a point of near-extinction. The surviving humans of each respective world, in an attempt to save themselves, all summoned other worlds at the same time to ask for help.[1] This would cause the each of the thirteen worlds to collide, break down, then reform into one singular new world leading to the present where all thirteen different humans band together in a final effort to survive.
