The contestants are split into three teams and compete in an extreme cake-off full of battles, buttons, and a Total Drama alumni guest judge. Two alliances search for the idol, but someone else finds it by pure chance. Though the villains' teams struggle due to their own teammate’s incompetence, one team comes out on top due to a member’s experience. In the end, a tough competitor is sent home in order to split up an overly-affectionate couple, but her lover is eliminated as well after getting dragged off with her.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Caleb looking for the idol in a tree, but it is not there. Priya tells him to be careful getting down from the tree because the branches look unstable, but Caleb tells her not to worry about him. Ironically, the branch he is standing on breaks, causing him to fall as Priya jumps down after him. Somehow, Priya lands before him and ends up catching him. Priya asked Caleb if he’s okay, to which Caleb responds that he’s better than okay. The two almost have their first kiss before they are interrupted by an unknown sound coming from a hiding Zee's soda can.

MK and Julia look for the idol together as MK looks inside a rabbit's head using a flashlight while Julia throws a squirrel outside of a tree.

Julia tells MK that it would've stunk if MK went home at the previous elimination ceremony. MK smirks at her and asks why, questioning if it's because Julia likes her. Julia stutters to say that wasn't the reason, and since she couldn't finish without stuttering, MK said that she did, officially marking them as BFFs as she made jokes about how they could wear a matching heart pendant or start a podcast. In response, Julia called it hilarious, saying she hoped MK was eaten by something.

Damien walks through the woods, feeling as confident as ever, especially when he won the last challenge. He pointed finger guns at a squirrel, and confused, it did them back. He felt as if nothing could bring him down. However, he tripped on a log and fell immediately after. Despite being injured for a second due to the fall, he managed to find the idol inside of the log. Now believing the statue could bring him to the end, Damien told himself he didn't need to be afraid of anything. Just then, Damien jumped and threw the idol into the air in fear after Chris blew an airhorn through the loudspeakers, making Damien have to add that he wouldn't be afraid of anything "Starting now." All campers reported to the beach for their next challenge.
After welcoming the campers, Chris threw a rubber spatula, landing in Chef's eye and making everyone scream in terror. The real Chef appeared behind, telling them it was just cake right before the cake's head fell off. Axel didn't seem to care for cake, calling it a rip-off and that she finally thought the place was getting good. Chris told the campers they would be making cakes that looked like "heartthrob and highly rated TV personality:" himself. Chef added on that, since baking was difficult, they would need to be into three teams. MK said that she didn't think baking was as hard as Chef thought, with Chris calling it a fair point. Following that, Chris told them he would be picking the teams because letting them choose didn't cause as much devastation as he had hoped.

Chris announces the teams, with team one consisting of Damien, Zee, Priya and Caleb, team two being MK, Axel and Ripper and team three being Raj, Wayne and Julia. Wayne and Raj gave Julia angry glances due to her previous actions as she looked at them and laughed nervously.

After agreeing to partner with Julia, the Hockey Bros attempt to hype her up by cheering her name and bumping her with their chests. However, this doesn't work, and only causes pain to Julia, which they don't notice, despite her saying "Ow" every time.

Chris was pleased to announce that there would also be a special guest judge attending, who knows about cake and was a former TDI champion, telling Owen to come out. Owen ran over to the rest of the group, excited to be back.

Owen says hi to everyone before noticing something is wrong. He sees the cake Chef behind him and is worried for Chef, not understanding it is just cake. He put its head back on and took the spatula out before giving it CPR as Chris and Chef looked at each other confused. He began giving the cake mouth-to-mouth, wondering why his mouth tasted so delicious as Chef came up to him and told him it was just cake, and that they went over that. Owen finally realized and laughed about it.

Since they hadn't seen each other for a while, Chris asked Owen what he'd been up to, so Owen told him that he had taken a nap and he knew he returned a library book before, making Chris move on. He explained each team would have to race to the battle barge to collect ingredients before going back on motorboats and selecting one of three remotes. The red remote was the "Totally Lost" remote, allowing teams to receive help from Chef. The blue remote was the "O-dog" remote, which made a team able to send Owen after another, which would likely hurt, and even Owen agreed with that. Lastly, the yellow remote was the "Kitchen Quake" remote, allowing one team to cause a fake earthquake for the others, shaking their whole stations. Each team would also have a carton of milk, a carton of eggs, and a tub of frosting in the fridge. Each cake would be judged on look and taste by the three judges, so people would need to be wise with baking. Everyone rushed through the water to get their ingredients from the battle barge, except Ripper, who was doing a doggy paddle.

Priya manages to get flour from her team but drops it after being hit into the water by Wayne, who used a nearby sack. Raj smiles at his buddy after Wayne yells out "Battle cry!", but Raj then notices MK trying to get up and he hits her back down using the same method Wayne used. Taking him by surprise, Julia jumps on Caleb's shoulders and repeatedly hits him in the face with a frying pan. Damien runs with a trident he got out of nowhere and throws it at Wayne, nearly hitting him and making him exclaim. Zee tries to make peace with Axel telling her that what is happening is madness, and so she corrects him by saying it is drama before kicking him into the water. Axel slams Damien into a sack of flour as Priya and MK fight before the latter is pulled into a headlock by Priya. Chef and Chris wonder how that escalated so quickly, but also where Damien got a trident from.
Raj calls Julia over because they have all they need as Wayne drives away. Julia is excited to see what the Hockey Bros got, but they had only grabbed a bow and arrow instead of baking ingredients, much to Julia's chagrin.

Julia throws Wayne and Raj overboard and they don't understand why, she says that she will go back to the barge and that they can swim back to shore, the Hockey Bros are confused and Wayne mentions that Julia may have forgotten her wallet.
Damien calls his team over because the entirety of team one has everything they need, and they all drive off.
Due to Wayne and Raj not getting anything, Julia makes it back to the dock and sees that, unfortunately, they will be getting the raw ingredients they have to mill themselves.
Priya questions which remote to choose and Damien quickly says not the red one, because Chef can't help them in the kitchen. Everyone laughs at this while Chef doesn't find it funny, as they're making fun of him. Caleb eventually selects the yellow one as they run off after getting the lead. Damien tasks Caleb and Priya to grab milk and eggs from the fridge as Zee goes to find a hand mixer.
MK says that they have to put thought into the remote they pick, but Ripper instantly grabs the red one, upsetting MK. Chris says that grabbing the "Totally Lost" remote is appropriate for their team, making fun of them. Chef tells them that this means that Julia, Wayne, and Raj would be left with the "O-dog," remote, causing Owen to make a dog sound as Chris assures him that the sound, he made is the sound a dog makes.
MK reads the instructions on the cake mix box and learns that it just needs water, making MK believe it's easy. She tries to ask Axel to get something, presumably water, but Axel is once again making out with Ripper, disgusting MK. She tells them to keep their hands to themselves at least until she's back as she hands Axel the box of cake mix.

MK gets back with the water, angry with her two teammates. Ripper questions why she's upset because they "didn't even do anything", but the cake mix box is open and they have tons of white handprints on each other, indicating that they clearly did not keep their hands to themselves like MK told them.
Julia arrived, hoping that Wayne and Raj would start preparing the eggs, but they were playing baseball with them instead, breaking them all in the process. She yelled at them, calling them multiple mean things as they stood there looking upset.

“ | So, I had to work at my parents' bake shop every summer as a kid; they called it "Sweet Little Julia's". I only talk to Greg and Judy through my lawyers now. | ” |
Julia continues insulting them as Owen makes a joke saying the place should've been called "Mean Little Julia's". Julia says that she will begin milling and that Wayne and Raj need to go find more eggs. She yells at them to go now, causing them to run away in a panic to find them quick.
The campers have 90 minutes left, but while MK is working, Ripper and Axel spoon feed each other the cake batter. Ripper chokes on one of the spoonful's and spits it out onto MK, causing her to yell at them because she's trying to focus. MK puts the cake in the oven but forgets to grease her pan as Chef mentions it'll come back to bite her. Chris calls it ironic because of how greasy their team is, once again making fun of them.
Wayne and Raj almost run directly into chickens before Raj stops Wayne, reminding him of what Emma said about being attacked by chickens. Wayne replied by saying his uncle had a farm in Saskatoon, and so he's been catching chickens since before he could skate. He then shouted out "Now let's get some eggs!" The chickens looked in shock before glaring at them as Raj asked Wayne if chickens looked at him like that before, but Wayne couldn't say he had. One stepped forward and challenged them to a fight by doing a wing motion, causing the boys to realize they were about to attack, but they couldn't get away before they were trampled.
Julia quickly mixes her cake, causing Chef to say she might be able to win. Priya tells Caleb they need to slow her down as he pulls out the "Kitchen Quake" remote. Every spot except for team one's area shakes, flipping over Julia and MK's bowls. Damien takes out the baking soda, saying he just needs a pinch so their batter will be ready for the oven. Julia glares before she looks up and notices a bottle of vinegar above them.

She pulls out the bow and arrow Wayne and Raj got from the battle barge earlier and uses it to shoot a hole into the bottle as it pours into the baking soda, making it explode on top of Damien. Wayne and Raj come back as Julia says "Finally", but she is surprised to see that they were injured after confronting the chickens. Wayne complains about all the feathers while Raj tells her the beaks went everywhere, asking for the trainer. Unfortunately for them, Julia believes they have no time and need to go get milk, but Wayne doesn't know where they're meant to get that, to which Julia replies there must be something they can milk.
Chris announces they have 60 minutes left and 2 of the 3 teams still don't have their cakes in the oven as MK takes hers out. Seeing MK almost ready to sculpt, Julia pulls out her remote without a second thought. However, she seems a bit more reluctant, but sics Owen on MK anyway.

As MK mixes her icing, she is confused as to why she suddenly feels 10 degrees warmer before Owen appears and chases her for the icing.
Wayne and Raj spot a rhino, confusing it for a cow. Believing they can get a few cups of milk out of the rhino, they go up to it and call it Bessie, saying they'll be gentle as Raj grabs its tail. This angers the rhino, making it chase them.
MK slams her hands on Owen as he drinks the frosting, but this doesn't affect him as he finishes the bowl.
Wayne and Raj come back with the milk, confusing Julia who doesn't know how they got so much. Raj says it was from an armored cow and Wayne adds it was an angry armored cow. Julia takes the milk and is about to tell Wayne and Raj to get something else, but they collapse, upsetting Julia, who believes she has to do everything.
Damien is upset because if they can't make the cake rise then they won't have a chance. Priya looks over and notices Ripper sweating, remembering that baking soda isn't the only way to make things rise as she walks over to Axel, who is painting Ripper. Priya tells her that arms over head is a more classic look, and she agrees because it'll show off "them pipes." Axel tells Ripper to put his hands up, and so he does it because he would do anything for his "doomsday prepping Picasso." Just then, Priya uses a brush to take the sweat from Ripper's armpit, making him laugh due to being ticklish.

Priya returns with the brush with Ripper's sweat and tells Damien not to ask. Meanwhile, MK struggles to get the cake out of the pan she failed to grease earlier and seeing that there's no other option, she presses the button on the "Totally Lost" remote. Chef arrives to MK's workstation and asks "Chef MK" what the problem is. MK requests not to call her that and points out that Chef should know since he's been watching the entire time. Chef tells her that it's too bad MK can't build a time machine so she can go back in time grease her pans, much to MK's disappointment as that's all the advice Chef can give before he left. MK goes to check on Ripper and Axel for the modeling chocolate, only to be shocked at the two making a chocolate sculpture and kissing, much to the disgust of everyone present.

Chris announces they have 30 minutes left as the cake for Damien's team has been set on the counter. Damien tells them that they need to wait for the cakes to cool, as they are as hot as "molten lava." However, he finds Owen eating one of the cakes and warns him not to, but Owen starts feeling the burning and runs into the lake to cool off. Damien wonders if someone pressed another "O-Dog" remote, but Owen comes back and says that he was just hungry. Julia also takes her cakes out of the oven and orders Wayne and Raj to cool them down, which they do by blowing on them at the same time. MK begins to stack her cakes on top of each other to sculpt them, but Chef warns that doing so without putting icing between the layers like MK is doing will cause the cake to become unstable. MK simply responds to this by grabbing a stick and jabbing it through the middle of the cake, which Chris states is one way to stabilize something.

With only 15 minutes left, Priya worriedly tells her team to look at Julia’s cake, which has now been perfectly sculpted to look exactly like a bust of Chris. Though Damien states that they are “pooched”, Caleb comes up with an idea that just might save them: after noting that Chris is an extreme egomaniac, he suggests that, instead of trying to make the cake look exactly like Chris, they make it look like what Chris thinks he looks like. Chris calls for 5 more minutes before the baking period ends, and the teams desperately work to put the finishing touches on their cakes; Julia sprinkles some sprinkles on her cake, Damien works to get the tips of their cake to frost, and MK actually begins to bash her cake with a meat tenderizer while desperately questioning why it isn’t beautiful. The contestants continue to work like this until Chris counts down the last 5 seconds and orders them to put their spatulas down.

Chris, Chef and Owen begin with the cakes' appearance judging and start with Raj, Wayne and Julia's cake. Julia lifts up the box to reveal a cake that looks exactly like Chris, impressing the judges and causing Owen to note that it's impossible to tell the difference between the cake and the real thing, which causes him to look at Chris hungrily until Chris calls for security. They then move on to Damien, Zee, Priya and Caleb's cake, Damien lifts up the box to reveal that they decorated their cake to look like an overly muscular Chris. While Chef and Owen are unsure about this design, Chris is absolutely enthralled by this and has difficulty with pulling himself away from it, much to Julia’s annoyance. Finally, they move on to MK, Axel and Ripper's cake, to MK lifts up the box to reveal that their cake looks like a disgusting, swamp green, sickeningly misshapen Chris-headed blob with a stick jutting through the middle of it. Chris can only bring himself to laugh at MK in pity, but states that he hopes that her cake doesn’t taste as bad as it looks.
The judges begin to taste-test the cakes next, starting with MK’s “abstract cake”. They take one bite and immediately start gagging, with even Owen being unable to take the cake’s taste and Chef noting that it literally tastes like garbage.

Then they taste Julia and her team's cake, and they seem to like it, as Owen even licks the plate and then wanting to take the rest of the cake, while being hold by Chris and Chef and Julia, Raj and Wayne looking scared.

“ | I think one of the judges having to be forcibly restrained is, yeah, a pretty good sign. | ” |
Chris says that this "masterpiece" will be tough to beat, while still having to taste the last team's cake. They do, and they absolutely love it, with all of them tearing up and then them eating the whole pieces off the plates. Priya asks if they like it and Chris obviously responds positive, with her team cheering up, much to the disappointment of Julia, Wayne and Raj. Then Ripper tells Chris that if their team won, he should at least get credit, much to Chris' confusion. Priya then tells Chris that they had to make their cake rise somehow so they used "natural yeast". Chris, Chef and even MK are disgusted by this, with Chris and Chef throwing up, while Owen continues to eat his piece, while telling himself to start using it too. Chris then announces, while still being disgusted, that Raj, Wayne and Julia won the challenge, invincibility and are safe from elimination. Julia cheers, while Wayne and Raj are bumping her with their chests in the same manner as before the challenge started. Chris also thanks Owen for guest-starring in this episode, but Owen already left with the rest of the cake Chef, clearly set on eating it when he gets home.
The camera cuts at the remaining ten contestants walking to the elimination ceremony. Chris then says that "this was one of their best challenges yet", and then telling the contestants that someone already find the immunity idol, as the rest of them gasp in surprise. Damien proceeds to act surprised as well while telling Chris that he's been looking all over for it.

Chris then says that, as usual, it wasn't all "rainbows and unicorns", while telling Chef to let the campers have it, to which Chef said that it would be his honor. And with that, Chef starts explaining why some campers would be at risk of elimination. But, not before telling Ripper and Axel to quit their make out session so he can tell them how awful they all are. Chef calls out to MK, as she acts surprised, but then tells Chef that she was just kidding and that she knows she cooked horrible, so Chef skips over her, thinking she got it. Then, he tells Priya that her team had a real shot at immunity until she used yeast from Ripper's armpit, while gagging, much to Priya's chagrin.

Damien, Caleb, Zee, Priya and MK all receive marshmallows, leaving Axel and Ripper as the bottom two, as they realize that one of them will be going home. Ripper receives the last marshmallow, much to his sadness, as Axel has been eliminated, with Ripper collapsing to his knees shouting, and Raj and Wayne covering their ears. Ripper than asks how this could've happened, as Chris takes Axel away.

The scene cuts to the Dock of Shame, with Ripper telling Axel that he never felt like this before. Axel tells him it was fun and that she'll see him around "maybe". Ripper doesn't understand this, and she asks Axel what she means by that, but she doesn't give a response. The Drone of Despair takes Axel away but Ripper refuses to let it go so he jumps after it into her, grabbing her boots, and sending both of them into the lake, along with the drone. Chris asks himself rhetorically if this was a double elimination, and allows it since it works for him, as he signs off the episode.

General[]
- Though it’s been confirmed that fifteen years have passed between Total Drama Island (2007) and Total Drama Island (2023), Owen’s design remains vastly unchanged and shows no real sign of aging. However, he does now sport dark green eyes instead of his traditional black eyes in reference to his minor design change in Total DramaRama.
- This is the first episode of the reboot where more than one contestant wins individual invincibility.
- Julia's team is the only one that consists solely of Team Skunk Butt members (as well as Frogs of Death), Damien's team is the only one to consist solely of Team Rat Face members, whereas MK's team is the only one to have members from both teams of the season.
- This is also the second episode in a row where Axel and Ripper, Caleb and Priya, Damien and Zee, and Julia and Wayne respectively are on a team together post-merge.
- This is the first episode since his debut that Bowie did not appear, but he is mentioned.
- This episode marks the first time a contestant from the original series interacts with the cast of the reboot series.
- This is the second time that Axel is eliminated in an episode where she and Ripper are in the bottom two.

Goofs[]
- Just like when Nichelle left, the episode never acknowledges that, per the updated rules from last season, Ripper owes the show a one million dollar fine for quitting the show. However, it's possible that either the rules got updated again, Chris had simply lied about the rule back then to prevent Damien from having an easy way out of the show, Chris will charge Ripper for quitting later on after the season is over or Ripper may not have to pay it as he didn't specifically quit and Chris merely disqualified him for the sake of a double elimination.
- Zee is wearing his long pants when he spies on Priya and Caleb.
- When the scene where many of the contestants look grossed out by Axel and Ripper's kissing, Damien's mouth is wider than normal.
- During Wayne and Raj's first confessional, Wayne's facial hair is gone.
