Koh-Lanta: Palau is the tenth season of Koh-Lanta. It was broadcast on TF1 from August 28 to October 30, 2009, with each episode airing at 8:55 p.m.

Christina Chevry defeated Patrick Merle in a 5-2 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor.

Production

This season took place in the island country of Palau within the geographic region of Micronesia. The main theme of the season was the Pacific Theatre of World War II, similar to that of Survivor: Palau, the American season which was filmed in the same location.

Twists

• Expanded Cast: This is the first season to have its initial cast comprising of eighteen castaways.
• Elimination Challenge: On Day 1, an elimination challenge occurred where one man and one woman would be eliminated. The winning man and woman would select one castaway to join them to learn essential survival skills.
• Schoolyard Pick: The tribes were created on Day 3 and were selected by the youngest and oldest castaways.
• Replacements: Due to three evacuations, three players (Anthony Parra, Christina and Kader Rebaï) returned to the game after being voted out.
• Tribe Switch: As part of the Reward Challenge on Day 10, the winning tribe won the right to take one of their opposing tribe's members. However, the result of the challenge was a tie, ultimately resulting in both tribes taking one member each.
• Re-entry Challenge: As a result of the new ambassador format (the castaway chosen being eliminated instead of having an extra vote cast against them) being heavily disliked by the castaways, the castaway eliminated by the ambassadors would compete in a re-entry challenge for a chance to return to the game.

Notes: ^1 Joëlle and Anthony were eliminated on Day 1 for losing the first challenge. ^2 Per the rules of Koh-Lanta, in the event of a deadlocked tie, the tied castaways would draw rocks. The castaway that draws the black rock would be eliminated. ^3 The reward was played out in two challenges. Koror won the first challenge, which afforded them luxuries on their trek. The result of the trek, the second challenge, resulted in a tie. ^4 At the ambassadors meeting, Fabienne and Isabelle had to vote on one castaway to eliminate. They both decided to vote out Alexandre. ^5 Christina kept her immunity she won on Day 18 for the Tribal Council on Day 21, since the Tribal Council she was supposed to be immune at was cancelled. ^6 At the final four, the remaining castaways competed in an elimination challenge. They both decided to vote out Alexandre. ^8 Alexandre was medically evacuated from the game after suffering slight head trauma causing an edema in his nose. Kader returned to the game to replace him. ^9 At the final four, the remaining castaways competed in an elimination challenge. Fabienne came in last and was eliminated. ^10 Isabelle and Patrick did not vote as they could only vote for were each other. By virtue of winning the final Immunity Challenge, only Christina voted.
