Koh-Lanta: La Tribu Maudite is the thirty-first season of Koh-Lanta.

Production

At its back-to-school press conference held this Thursday, June 27, 2024, the TF1 group unveiled the contours of this new edition, named "La Tribu Maudite" ("The Cursed Tribe", translated in English).

Twists/Changes

• The Cursed Tribe:
  • Banishment: Just after the marooning, 22 new castaways competed in a challenge. The last two men and the last two women to finish were banished to a very hostile island and formed a tribe of their own : the Cursed tribe.
  • Duel: Each episode, the members of the tribe that lose the Reward Challenge have to vote for one of their own to compete in a Duel against a member of the Cursed tribe. To access the Duel, the latter has to find a specific kind of idol called Anito. The winner of the Duel then joins the tribe that lost the Reward Challenge, and the loser joins the Cursed tribe.
  • Individual Immunity Necklaces: The winner of each Duel goes back to camp with an Individual Immunity Necklace that they can play at any Tribal Council until the merge.
  • Final Challenge: On Day 13, the four members of the Cursed tribe competed in a challenge. The two winners would enter the main game, both on different tribes, while the two losers would be permanently eliminated, with the twist being disbanded.
  • Redemption Duel: On Day 31, the castaways eliminated at the Final Ten competed in a duel on the island of the disbanded Cursed Tribe, the winner of which would return immediately to the main game.
• One Returnee per Tribe: Two former contestants, Frédéric Khouvilay and Ugo Latriche, returned for another chance to win. At the marooning, they became team captains and created their respective tribes via a Schoolyard Pick.
• Impromptu Tribal Council: The tribe that loses third Immunity Challenge has its Tribal Council held immediately after the challenge, at the challenge site.
• Tied Destinies: On Day 28, the ten remaining castaways are divided into five pairs by a rock draw. Until the next Tribal Council, the fate of each contestant is linked to their partner: the challenges are competed by pairs, and the person voted out at Tribal Council causes their partner's demise.
