For the group section of the opening sudden death challenge, Alexandre was partnered with Rodolphe Assi, Joëlle Bourlier, Marine Mocellin, Fabienne Lefebvre-Trehoux, and Louis-Laurent Léger. After the group transitioned into the individual section of this challenge, Alexandre was the eighth man to arrive at the finish line with his staff and was safe. Before the tribe composition the next day, Denis Brogniart revealed to the contestants that Myriam Desvergne, who had been temporarily evacuated from the game two days before after having injured her ankle during the sudden death challenge, had been permanently evacuated and eliminated from the game the day before as it was determined that she had fractured her ankle. He added that, because of this, Anthony Parra would reenter the game in her place. Julien was assigned by Marine to be a member of the Koror tribe and they immediately competed in the first Immunity Challenge. Though the Koror tribe had maintained a strong lead throughout the challenge, the Mawaï tribe succeeded in catching up near the end and winning the challenge. Upon returning to camp, Patrick Merle strategized with the men that they needed to vote against one of the women, particularly either Christina Chevry or Raphaële Navarro, as he felt that doing so would keep the tribe strong. Since the tribe had an equal number of men and women, Patrick tried to convince Marine to vote with the men. However, this backfired as Marine realized that joining him would put her at the bottom of a men's alliance and, in turn, made plans with the women to vote against Julien Mairesse. Also, Alexandre was considering voting differently from the other men since he didn't care for Patrick was telling him what to do. Ultimately, at Tribal Council, Alexandre stuck with the men and they voted against Raphaële while the women voted against Julien. This resulted in a tied vote and the contestants had to revote. Since nobody changed their vote on the revote, Julien and Raphaële had to draw rocks. Julien drew the black rock and was eliminated, leaving the men in the minority.
Over the next few cycles, on top of his affinity with the other men of his tribe, Alexandre also developed some affinity with Raphaële. In spite of their low start, the Koror tribe bounced back and won six consecutive challenges, including two Immunity Challenges and a Reward Challenge in which the reward was fire. Having fire allowed the Koror tribe to improve upon their diet. The sixth of these challenges was the fourth Reward Challenge which began on Day 10 and consisted of going on a trek to retrieve as many bags as possible, which would be returned to the starting line on Day 11. During the night of this challenge, Alexandre and Isabelle Da Silva fought with each other as the former felt that the latter was being lazy and the latter did not care for how the former was talking to her. Marine, tired and cold, had a tetanic seizure and she was temporarily evacuated from the game. The next day, the two tribes returned forty bags each to Denis Brogniart, who stated that both tribes have won the challenge as a result. The reward for this challenge was the right to permanently kidnap one of the members of the opposite tribe as part of a tribe switch. The Mawaï tribe chose Freddy Boucher and the Koror tribe chose Louis-Laurent. Louis-Laurent bonded well with his new tribemates, especially Alexandre, and he became more well-liked by the Koror tribe than Freddy after Freddy declared that he was a proud Mawaï tribe member at the fourth Immunity Challenge the next day. The Koror tribe lost the fourth Immunity Challenge and Denis Brogniart revealed to them that Tribal Council would be taking place right there and then. Marine, who had voted earlier from the infirmary in the event that the Koror tribe lost, voted against Raphaële for her lack of affinity with her. In the confusion of the sudden Tribal Council, Isabelle and Raphaële turned on each other for similar reasons, however, the men were able to stay united and voted out Christina, who they deemed was too quiet in spite of being good in challenges. When Marine was permanently evacuated and eliminated from the game on Day 13 after she was deemed medically unfit to continue competing, Christina returned to the game in her place. The Koror tribe won both challenges in the next cycle.
Before the tribes merged, Isabelle and Fabienne were selected as the Ambassadors for their respective tribes. Like in the previous season, the Ambassadors had to eliminate someone instead of simply casting a vote against someone. With Fabienne refusing to agree upon eliminating Freddy or any of her fellow original Mawaï tribemates and Isabelle initially taking a similar stance concerning her own allies, it seemed that Isabelle and Fabienne would be having to face a rock draw in order to decide who amongst themselves would be eliminated instead. However, Isabelle decided to offer Alexandre's name just before the Ambassadors were to draw rocks, feeling that he did not deserve to stay in the game as much as everybody else and that he was not worth potentially being eliminated over. Fabienne agreed to this and Alexandre was eliminated from the game. When Isabelle and Fabienne returned to camp and broke the news, Louis-Laurent cried over the sudden elimination of his friend and Alexandre got angry at Isabelle, feeling that she made this decision because she was bitter about their fight from the night of the fourth Reward Challenge. Meanwhile, the majority of the other contestants commented to each other that they felt that Isabelle was selfish and had failed to live up to her duty as an Ambassador, with only Patrick openly stating that he understood her decision and likely would have done something similar in her place. At the beginning of the next cycle, two days after his elimination, Denis Brogniart revealed to Alexandre that he could reenter the game if he could find a stone ring hidden somewhere on the island where the tribe composition took place on Day 3. Alexandre succeeded in finding the stone ring and rejoined the merged tribe later that day, to the chagrin of Isabelle. The next day, during the second individual Immunity Challenge, Alexandre hit his nose full force against a beam in a haste to finish the challenge and was temporarily evacuated from the game after the challenge. Unfortunately, he was permanently evacuated and eliminated from the game the day after once it was confirmed that he had cracked his nose and that he was suffering from a severe concussion, allowing for Kader Rebaï to return to the game in his place with immunity at the upcoming Tribal Council.
