Thoth is one of the playable Gods in SMITE.

Lore[]

Legends tell of a tome of magic, wherein all the secrets of the world can be found, where the spells to change the fabric of reality are written, and where the knowledge to master death is inscribed. The legends understate reality. So powerful is this book that the mere flipping of pages sets Gods on edge.

This lexicon of legerdemain was no product of happenstance. Every incantation, every inflection was carefully crafted by a God beyond comprehension, of wisdom so transcendent, he willed himself into being. He is Thoth, the Scribe of Secrets.

Three great battles there have been, and at each, Thoth was present, aiding the forces of order to triumph over chaos. When Ra faced the world serpent Apep for the final time, Thoth's spells shielded Ra against the reptile. When Osiris was dismembered by his brother Set, Thoth taught Eset the incantations to reassemble him. And when Horus, the child of Eset and Osiris, battled Set once again for control of the Kingdom, Thoth's rituals cleansed the young man of Set's vilest poisons.

All of the secrets, the power, the wisdom of the universe, Thoth has placed into this book. He is the guardian of this knowledge, invoking it only to save the world, to keep it from descending into disorder.

But now, the world is falling into chaos. God battles God. The heavens quake, the earth shudders, the seas boil, and mortals cry out. If ever there was a time for Thoth to break the binding of his book, it is now. This world is unprepared for the secrets he will reveal.

Abilities[]

Passive - Dead Reckoning

	Thoth pens the names of his fallen opponents in his book, recording their weaknesses. After killing 20 Enemies, Thoth gains a stack of 3 Flat Magical Penetration and 1% Magical Penetration, and killing an Enemy God will complete the current stack. He unlocks a new stack every 4 levels, up to a maximum of 5 stacks at level 17.		Notes:

1st Ability - Hieroglyphic Assault

	Thoth conjures three Hieroglyphs around him, ignoring the Basic Attack Movement penalty. His next 3 Basic Attacks pass through Enemies and apply Ability Damage instead. Additionally, these Basic Attacks deal an additional 25% damage to jungle minions. If these attacks pass through the Glyph of Pain, their range is increased by 30. Hitting an Enemy God with this ability increases the damage they take from each subsequent shot by 10% and reduces the cooldown by 0.5s (this can only occur once per shot).		Notes: The damage bonus to gods is additive, so 3 consecutive hits deals 1x, 1.2x, and 1.4x per hit (148.5/214.5/280.5/341.5/412.5 (+82.5% of your Magical Power) damage total). Deals up to 135/195/255/315/375 (+75% of your Magical Power) (169/244/319/394/469 (+94% of your Magical Power) damage to jungle minions) damage to minions and reduces the cooldown by a maximum of 1.5s. Each hieroglyph deals 55/85/115/145/175 (+30% of your Magical Power) damage if they pass through the Glyph of Pain.

2nd Ability - Evade and Punish

	Thoth dashes in the direction he is currently traveling. After dashing, for 5s Thoth's next basic attack is enhanced. This projectile roots the first Enemy god hit while slowing all other Enemies, and also deals Ability Damage. If either the Dash or Attack passes through the Glyph of Pain, their respective range is increased by 30.		Notes: The attack deals 80/130/180/230/280 (+65% of your Magical Power) damage through Glyph of Pain. Won't go on cooldown until the enhanced attack is fired or expires. This basic attack is spent even if Thoth misses.

3rd Ability - Glyph of Pain

	From his book, Thoth conjures forth a Hieroglyph in front of him. Thoth's ability projectiles passing through the glyph receive increased damage, and a range increase of 30. This damage does not trigger Item effects. Thoth and allies' Basic Attack projectiles also receive a lesser damage bonus, but no range increase.		Notes: Hieroglyphs from this ability last 8s. Placing more than one Hieroglyph will not cause the oldest one to despawn, but bonus damage from Thoth's abilities and ranged basic attacks only stack once. Empowered basic attacks count as two hits on enemy wards and player-made deployables.

Ultimate - Final Judgement

	Thoth conjures a large glyph from his book, and then inscribes three more at its corners. When all four have been summoned, he sends them forward damaging all Enemies in their path. Thoth may activate this ability again to fire the ability early, doing a reduced amount of damage based on the number of glyphs currently summoned. Alternately he may cancel this ability at a cost of 30 mana.		Notes: Can be channeled for up to 3s while adding a page every 1s. Deals 40% of the damage with just the large glyph, adding 20% for each extra glyph. Deals up to 430/500/570/640/710 (+125% of your Magical Power) damage if ability passes through the Glyph of Pain.

The actor who voiced Thoth, Chris Guerrero, also voiced Code Eater Bakasura, Gravemaker Cabrakan, Forgotten Gods Chaac's Optimism form, Kuku Kukulkan, Unholy Doodle Ra, Deep Space Ratatoskr, Gladiator Thor and Omniscent Oracle Zeus.
Thoth continues the tradition of the anthropomorphic birds gods having a laugh that makes bird noises.
Thoth defeat screen animation could be a reference to the The Monster Book of Monsters from the Harry Potter movie.
Thoth along with Achilles and Rama are currently the only gods who have dashes that let them travel in the direction currently being traveled.
