Lore

Ishtar, Queen of Heaven and mistress of love and war, is a goddess of many and diverse facets. A dispenser of divine justice, she strikes down all those who would dare defy the gods, even as she zealously protects those who worship her. Brave and cunning; caring and spiteful; Ishtar is all these things and more.

She moves from conquest to conquest, never resting — never satisfied. By turns capricious and determined, Ishtar is loyal only to her own designs...though what those designs might be are never wholly clear, even to her worshippers.

When the gods first came into being, each was blessed with a domain and responsibilities — all save Ishtar. Incensed by this oversight, Ishtar stole the sacred mes from Enki, lord of the waters, after challenging him to a drinking contest. Infuriated by her impudence, Enki sent legions of monsters to reclaim his power, but all failed. Ishtar defeated them one by one, and earned Enki's grudging respect in the process.

With her newfound power, Ishtar soon set her sights on fresh challenges and conquests. She claimed the temples of her father, Anu, as her own and destroyed Mount Ebih, considering its natural beauty an affront to her authority. She even escaped from the underworld, and it was she who spoke on mankind's behalf when Enlil sought to drown humanity in a great deluge.

But perhaps the most well-known tale of Ishtar is how, having taken offense at Gilgamesh's lack of respect, sent the Bull of Heaven to slay the semi-divine king of Uruk. But Gilgamesh managed to defeat the creature, and thus earned the undying enmity of Ishtar.

Now, Ishtar has once again descended from the heavens — in search of what, none know. But woe betide any who seek to stand between the Queen of Heaven and that which she desires...

Abilities

Passive - Mark of Vengeance When Ishtar drops below 75% Health, she marks the Enemy God that most recently damaged her for 10s. Each time Ishtar deals damage to the marked God with a Basic Attack, she gains a stacking Attack Speed buff. If Ishtar receives a kill or assist on the marked God, she gains a Movement Speed buff. This passive has a 20 second cooldown. Notes:   Attack speed stacks up to 30%.   The mark does not reveal stealthed targets.   Attack Speed Buff: 5% for 4s   Max Stacks: 6   Movement Speed Buff: 20% for 5s   Ability Type: Buff Ability Video 1st Ability - Imbue Arrows Ishtar imbues her arrows with heavenly light, enhancing her Basic Attacks in one of three ways for 6s. The three varieties include Strike Shot, a lobbed explosive arrow, Spread Shot, a volley of five arrows, and Storm Shot, a fast-paced long range snipe. Ishtar cannot hit Structures during the duration. Notes:   Ishtar can cancel the ability selection without triggering it's cooldown and can cancel any of her empowered basic attacks any time.   Empowered basic attacks also don't damage player-made deployables nor wards while active.   Duration: 6s   Ability Type: Buff   Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana   Cooldown: 10 seconds Ability Video 1st Ability Variant - Strike Shot Ishtar lobs bolts that explode in an area, dealing bonus damage. If an Enemy is hit by both the initial fire and the recall, they are stunned for 1s. Each sword hit after the first deals reduced damage, resetting before recalling. General

• Ishtar was the first hunter of the Babylonian pantheon.
• Ishtar along with Lancelot and Neith are currently the only gods who have leaps that don't let them move through walls.
• Ishtar is one of the few gods with a leap that only lets them move backwards, with the first being Neith.
• Ishtar along with Horus, Morgan Le Fay, Set and Tyr are currently the only gods where in their end of match lobbies, another playable god appears in.
