A little too much CGI for my taste, some of which isn't aging very well, (the final big rig crash that has stuff flying at the screen meant to take advantage of 3D is the worst offender) a problem this wouldn't have if they'd just done things the good ole fashioned way like it's predecessors.
As much as I like Tom Hardy, Mel Gibson will always be Max to me! And I get it, Gibson had kinda been ostracized from Hollywood but if you think Mel couldn't play this role anymore go check out a little movie he starred in just a year later called Blood Father, this should've been his Logan.
Those two big reasons hold Fury Road back for me but it's still a damn good, non stop, action packed thrill ride! Hell outta all the 2016 best picture nominees this is by far my favorite!
Like Tina Turner, Charlize Theron was another brilliant addition to this insane world! She's fantastic as the totally bada$$ Furiosa!
I understand why many prefer this over my personal favorite Thunderdome. Max looking out for a bunch of defenseless kids, nah, F those kids! Max helping out a bunch of half naked hot babes who already have a very capable wasteland warrior on their side, oh hell yeah! Pass me the popcorn!
Last Mad Max I needed to rewatch and review before Furiosa. I'm so ready! Bring it on!
