Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2018

I wasn't sure how much I would like this movie. I remember seeing the trailer for it before it was released to theaters and thinking that I didn't like the animation all that much. That ended up being better than I thought it would be. Since it is on Netflix, I decided to give it a shot.

I'm not a huge fan of animated movies or Spider-Man for that matter. I was surprised at how much I liked this one. As the film went on, the animation didn't bother me as much. What I liked most about it was the story. I liked how the story was self-aware in knowing that most people watching it likely know who Spider-Man and how he came about, yet there is still an origin story to be found. It also had some nice heartwarming scenes as well. Something that has been missing, for the most part, in recent superhero movies. At least on this level. There was one scene that had me close to shedding some tears, something I haven't felt in other superhero movies.

This wasn't the most action-packed movie ever, but what it lacked there it made up for it in the story.
