2018 Releases Ranked-HERE
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will always have a special place in my heart. Not only is it one of the best animated films ever made but I saw it with 18 of my closest friends at the cinema. We were the only people in the room and that experience of watching everyone be in awe of what they had just saw and chatting about it afterwards over dinner will always be special to me. This was my first rewatch since 2018 and I must say, I loved every second.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is one of the best animated movies ever made. The animation is absolutely stunning to watch with the vibrant colours and comic book style animation all working in the films favour which, when mixed with the gorgeous soundtrack, creates a brilliant experience that warrants repeat viewings. The multiple villains: Kingpin, Green Goblin, Tombstone, Doctor Octopus and The Prowler, wouldn't all work in a live action format but with this being an animated film they work perfectly throughout as the film allows adequate time for our hero's to interact with them and learn more about them as the film progresses. Now the team, comprised of: Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker and of course Spider-Ham, are all unique, interesting and undeniably fantastic to watch as each character as their moment to shine with the drama and emotive moments that are showcased throughout all feeling earned as they develop far beyond the film's premise into characters you care about and want to see more of. The use of the repetitive narrative when introducing every character is incredibly fun and when mixed with the beautiful, truly gorgeous animation and catchy soundtrack all amount to a truly stellar film.
An Ethos that Spider-Man has always personified is the idea that anyone can be a hero and that's where the film gains its most basic, but arguably greatest, thrill. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse stretches that idea to hilarious new dimensions with wacky sequences and a story that's as heart-warming as it is daring and for me, that all amounts into a rather fantastic spectacle that always makes this a rather special film to watch. It's undeniable that this film is beautiful, I've said it time and time again, but it's also one of the best, most visually daring animated movie to have ever graced our screens. It's a film that's hard not to love. It's truly incredible!
