The rewatch was obviously needed before next weekend. I will never forget being absolutely floored by the climactic set piece on the big screen. It was a profound experience for both myself and my son, who counts this as his favorite film of all time. It is easily one of the best animated films I've ever seen, and every time I watch, it takes my breath away. The story is so resonant that I would utterly and completely love it even if the animation wasn't so groundbreaking and incredible.
But it is, so that just makes it even better.
Pure cinema, baby!
