Fucking hell every time I watch this film I’m just in complete awe. Cuz it isn’t just a masterclass in animation, soundtrack etc but it’s also a gem of storytelling. I mean the tagline anyone can wear the mask is the backbone of the film and makes Miles’ story all the more special for everyone.
His rise from ordinary nerdy teen to freakin Spider-man is handled with such care rather than being thrown into the action (*cough* *cough* MCU). His relationships with Uncle Aaron, Peter B. Parker, his dad and Gwen all form part of who he is. I feel like that’s sometimes more important for Spider-man, not himself but others. And to be the first film to employ the multiverse genre and still have nobody else come close to replicating it to this level speaks more words than anything could. I’m so fucking stoked to see ATSV tomorrow (finally).
